Yes, it's happened again....I ran across another fixer-upper....a small black Persian at Animal Control...brought in as a stray, no one claimed her...she was to go to Petsmart...this kind of made me antsy, as one never knows if the adopter will keep up with all that coat...etc....
The shelter said, if I wanted her, I could get her...which I did so another without hope cat could be pulled from the catroom and be spared...
Persian Rescue told me they'd help me with this cat...haven't heard back from them lately...This cat's 3/4 persian at least..the only thing off is her eyes...they are about normal size...not the huge eyes I see in photos...also her face is broad, but not totally flat...
She's got a tremendous amount of old undercoat that I'm working on...several large matted areas that the vet clinic helped me shave off...she's like a black cloud!!! Her weight's fine...
8 lbs, 12.5 ounces..
She tested negative for FeLV and FIV...HOORAY!!!! Vet aged her at 3 to 9 yrs...hard to tell...she was previously spayed and front-declawed...
The day after arriving here, she started sneezing...NATURALLY!!! Guess that was bound to happen with her having been at the shelter...
Does anyone know if we can give cats zinc preparations like humans can take to shorten the lifespan of viruses??? Just curious....
I've named her Mabelline de la Meow....she's quite a talker and tells the other cats not to get on her nerves or she'll clean their clocks!!!! HISSSSSSS REOW!!!! They give her wide berth...evidently she's to be believed....
Mabelline LOVES to lie on my lap and loves to get combed and brushed...
If anyone knows of a good persian person in the Central VA area, please let me know....
