Dandruff still a problem...

I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in nutrition. I've read all the other dandruff postings...but i'm stumped.

I have been trying to deal with Lucky's (DMH) dandruff problems that just started in the last few months. She's been fed natural balance/choice (dry) for the last year or so, which is good for omega 3/6. Her coat is very smooth and shiny, very few hairballs and other wise seems to be in great health. But the dandruff keeps getting worse. I've had her on omega supplements for about the last 4 weeks and have seen no difference. The dandruff isn't all over...just right around the base of her tail (or maybe i'm noticing it as much on her white fur). Could this be something we just have to live with for the winter? Or should i be looking for other environmental causes/allergens/diet?

I guess my question is this: does anyone have any other ideas/suggestions? I've read most of the other dandruff posts and I've tried what's been suggested.

I'm at a loss...

thanks in advance!

PS: rambo has shown no sign of dandruff or skin problems.

Lucky is very anti-bath (lol). I have used a wet towel to wipe her down (trying to pay attention to that area). I haven't tried a total bath...i don't think she would stand for it. She is due for her annual check up in January, she was in about 6 mos ago (before the dandruff showed up).

She is getting a liquid omega supplement hidden in her wet food in the mornings. She's been getting that for about 4 weeks now with no improvement (if anything it's getting worse). No hot spots yet though...

The dandruff started while they were on natural balance for about a year. (Rambo has no dandruff) When it started i looked into other dry foods with higher omega/oil levels to try and help. The store said that the only one that may be higher was natural choice...so i've just started switching them over to that.

The area where the dandruff is (base of her tail and rump area)...the hair is not as soft and smooth, it is more greasy and coarser.

Thanks so much for your advice and feedback. Lucky is due soon for her annual so i would ask that. And a friend just recommended a homeopathic vet to try.
