My ragdoll has a few matts underneath her belly. I would like to know what I can do to get rid of these mats. I am constantly combing him down but I still find some mats.

I"m surprised you are getting mats on a ragdoll. I thought they were pretty "mat free" type of coats - more silky and less prone.

Is your cat getting wet in that spot or more licking then usual? If excess licking, there may be other problems (skin, etc.).

I would just check each day and comb as needed.

If the mats are bad, the cat should go to the vet to have them shaved off (often there is a bad skin infection underneath) If they are just small mats use a seam ripper to gently pull the fur apart

Thank you , I would never think of a seam ripper... I was going to ask if anyone knew where to get one of those big undercoat rakes..
