Not sure as to why they are keeping him, maybe b/c he is getting his leukemia shots and another one, along with getting fixed? I'd rather them keep him and keep an eye on him with all the stuff their doing, especially w/ me and John being gone at work all day.

Aww, I love Harley! All his pictures (Esp the one on the left in your sig) reminds me so much of my BFs kitty Mick. So many good vibes to Harley on his big day! I'm really glad Marlee was fixed before I got her so I didn't have to worry, but I think she was fixed a little too early. She was supposedly 10 weeks when I got her, but my vet said she was actually younger he thought!

Lucky you, having Marlee fixed before you got her! I am so nervous about him going in! I just don't want anything to happen to him

I'm sure he'll do good! Like everybody else said, I would ask about letting him have something familiar with him. I'll keep you both in my thoughts!

I think I'm going to take in his ball or maybe the pillow case to the pillow he sleeps on (its a full sized pillow, I dont think they'd appreciate having that there!)

Good vibes for Harley! {{{
}}} And you too! Weird that they aren't sending him home the same day, we do for just cat neuters. Hmmm...I'm sure he'll be fine, and so much happier! Thanks for getting him neutered!
About leaving a personal item in the cage, usually when cats are asleep from anesthetic, they often urinate in their sleep, and if your item is in there he may pee on it accidentally, in which case they will remove it from the cage and wash it, and that just takes away the purpose of it. If you want to leave something with him, ask that they take it out of the cage while he is asleep and put it back in after he wakes up, so your scent stays on it and they don't wash or lose it. Good luck!

Oooooh good luck to you baby Harley! and don't worry too much Mummy he will be fine. At least you won't even see him dopey tonight. He won't be too bothered about where he is because he's just going to want to sleep AAALL night and then tomorrow when he's all lively and awake again you'll get him back and he'll be all happy to see you!
Good luck ! x

Well- me and Harley took our little trip into the vet this morning, we played all last night with his Harley Davidson ball and all this morning before we went in. I took his ball with him, just to keep him distracted in the car.

When we got into the office he was freaking out
I went to put him in the kennel and he was hissing at the lady, and he looked at me with those big brown eyes as to say 'Mom, please don't leave me here!' So I gave him lots of kisses and hugs and put him and his ball in the kennel and left, I wanted to cry!

They are going to do blood tests to make sure he's not allergic to anything and then give him his leukemia shots and his other one, and then do the neuter....it's going to be like over $150....I really wasn't thinking it was going to be THAT much....but its totally 150% worth it!

Anyways, I still feel horrible leaving him there, he HATES kennels, so he won't really be enjoying being in a kennel all day!!

Thanks for all the vibes, I think I'm the one who really needs them!!

Yeah, it still amazes me how widespread and acceptable this practice is!
Very true! I was asked that when Sluggo was neutered too. And most people act surprised when you say no. It's so sad that people just expect your kitty to be declawed. Such a horrible practice!
