I have 7 cats in one room while medicating them. 6 are ferals and one is a rescue. I was cleaning and found a streak of blood in ones potty. How will I know which one it is and what could it be? I have wormed most of them. Some I can't touch. I saw worms in ones potty. She went while I was cleaning. I have wormed her 3 times. But I saw no blood. Is there signs other than blood that would let me know which one is not doing well. One is still sneezing and has red eyes. They keep passing the uri back but I only have 4 cages and I let them play together all day. They are really noisy if I leave all 7 running all night. I have no other rooms to keep them in. My cats and kids have the rest of the house. They seem to be doing okay other than that. Playing and eating. They have been throwing up some though. Not sure which one on that either. It is not like with my cats. I know most of what they do. I will try to keep an eye out on them but if you have advice please let me know

I think you should put the four who are most likely to have a problem in the four cages for 24 hours for observation of eating habits and poo samples. Then trade off and put others in the cages. It is important to identify who is having the problem.

I'm not sure if a little blood in the poo is normal if you just wormed them, but maybe a phone call to the vet can answer that. (I would still want to know which one it was, just in case it doesn't clear up!)

That is a lot of rescues-good for you!

It was glitter and she is better now. She was full of worms. I just wormed them all again. thanks I was going to separate them just when I discovered her litter box had worms in it.

Darla are you worming them under a vet's supervision? Or using an over the counter wormer on them? Be advised, that over the counter wormers generally do not work and some even harm. Just because there is blood in the stool doesn't automatically mean parasites. It sounds to me like you might be worming them to much all at once?

Here's a gross but possibly effective idea....feed one cat at a time...some corn...it doesn't digest well and you know it always comes back to haunt ya!
Seriouly though we recommend that to a bunch of our patients when they don't know which pet is having the problem. Not too much, don't want to upset their stomach, and one at a time so you can tell who's poo is who's!

I got strongid from the vets after they were spayed and neutered. I have to reworm them today. But Glitter is the one that had blood in her stool and she is cleared now. It looks normal but when I return them outside with the other cats I can't touch they will just reinfest right?

After having children and changing diapers with strange results I should think of something like that but it never occurred to me. I will definitely remember that.
