And here I always thought that earwig populations dwindled when temperatures dropped. Needless to say, we're all incredibly annoyed here, as earwigs get into everything, including, of course, feline food bowls.

Are there any guidelines to follow when fumigating a house full of cats, four of them inside, seven ferals outside? Also, are there any questions I should ask the fumigator, as well as answers (or lack thereof) I should be on the lookout for?

Thank you!

I did a google search under "earwig control" and a number of items came up.
This insect does not usually inhabit inside of house but will stay around the perimeter. The exterminator should be informed that you have pets residing both inside and out. There should be a time span where no one is in the house.
I would ask the exterminator the name of the product to be used and do a search on that product to see its side effects for both humans and pets.
If you peruse some of the college publications there are non pesticide actions you can take to prevent control some of these insects.
