That is exactly what I was thinking. This guy either has a really bad sense of humor or is a total nut. I'm a Christian and I love my cats to pieces.

Sounds like a religious wacko to me. I hate when people use religion and the bible to spread their own ignorance around.

That's just too funny!

i'm a Christian too and the laws in the bible don't apply to animals, they aren't licking themselves to be 'crude' what sort of nutter would even think such a thing, some people are just pathetic

I'll tell you...that was one of the bigger reasons that I left the church and organized religion to pursue my own indiviudal faith-beliefs.

Not that I have anything against Christians as a whole. I think that the vast majority of Christians are good human beings, but to read this...man, if I were a Christian I would be SO ANGRY that someone was doing this to something so sacred to me.

Well, I've never heard from any religion that cats are evil, especially not Christianity.

The animals were put here on Earth by God according to the Bible and we were put here to LOOK AFTER THEM!!!! So therefore, we should have cats as pets as we are supposed to be looking after them!!

I think this guy is just a kook who is trying to stir up trouble!

You know, frankly I figure it's between God and myself as to what "kind"of Christian I am, but those views are far, far from anything I've ever thought.

My goodness!

My father is a fully ordainded minister and we had cats, dogs, birds, anf fish growing up. We had a dog named Duke that would lay under the Thanksgiving dinner table and (sorry this is harsh) puke! and pass gas. And my father was a STRICT christian parent. So what does that tell ya?

I'm curious where the web page came from.

I was trying to research the historic symbolism of cats for a little booth at our shelter's open house/holiday party and that one came up! I tried to search for the homepage associated with that article but couldn't find it.

Thanks for the info. This just floors me. Actually, it gets me really peed off! WHAT ARE THEY THINKING???????? I kinda thought it was a joke until you gave the reference to the home page.
I pray for my cats, just like I do all my loved ones. I just can't imagine that Jesus doesn't like cats!
Umm, okay I don't really know what to think of this. But, cats, like all other animals, are a Creation of God, so how could they so automatically be so evil? It's not their fault. That's just their nature, and they can't help it. I really don't understand this, and...really don't agree with it.

I do pray for cats, too...my cats, TCS members' cats...and thank God for them. I believe that Jesus loves everybody, including our beloved cats! What have they done wrong? They are so innocent and loving. We are blessed to have them in our lives.

This is the IMO forum so we can express our beliefs and religion, right? Just checking, everybody else is, so I assume it's ok.

All anyone would have had to do was meet my beloved Snoopy, who is now at the Rainbow Bridge, to know that cats aren't creatures of evil or the dark side. In all of his 20 years, Snoopy was nothing less than a sweet angel. He was a true creature of God, you could see God shining through in his eyes, you could feel it in his presence, and you could see it by the way he acted. He was pure LOVE, and God is LOVE, right?

I've never known a purer more beautiful soul in my life, be it human or otherwise, than Snoopy. If these idiots who wrote that hateful prose could look at Snoopy and be in his presence for even 5 minutes, I honestly don't think they could have written such stuff. In fact it just infuriates me that someone could call any loving creature like Snoopy evil. In fact, Snoopy was a gift from God, and I'm not just saying that. He REALLY was. I know that God found him for me, and me for him. I also know that God helped prepare me for the day that Snoopy was going to be going to The Rainbow Bridge.

I think all of my cats are precious little souls from Heaven, but Snoopy was a living Angel. Now he's a real angel, and I really believe that God has blessed him for being such a wonderful companion to his human mother. There is NO WAY that cats are evil. The most evil animals in the animal kingdom are human beings, although I know there are a few Angels amoung the human animal as well.

Well, search engines work based on how many people click on or view different articles, so I'm not going to even look at the article anymore. What a nutball!
that is the stupidest thing I ever read.

It's times like this that I am so glad I'm Pagan!!!

I don't believe in the notion that animals can be evil.
Religious fanatics ,to me, are evil. They scare me. And this is just another reason why.

Wow. Okay, here's the deal. I am a Jehovah's Witness, and I can guarantee that a) that "article" has never appeared in any JW publication, b) it certainly does not reflect what we believe about having pets, cats or otherwise—I mean, heck, my husband and I have seven—and c) the biblical passages on that page are taken COMPLETELY out of context.

I think—think—maybe it was supposed to be a joke, possibly a mean-spirited one.

Hmmm, I wonder if PETA had anything to do with this type of article. Seems like something they would do Cats or any animals bad for christians? Give me a break
post #53 of 57
This is pretty hilarious.
Not wanting to offend anyone
but I could not help but wonder if this website originated in Salem, Mass

Just a joke folks, just a joke.

Let's see I have....1, 2, 3...7 CATS....OMGosh...I'm a horrible horrible grevious sinner!
I cant believe that any one would put the time and effort into writing this article. Cats are love not evil.

The Jehovah Witnesses that I have know wouldn't agree with this at all, most have cats and dogs as pets.

I went back and looked up the site, seems strange to me that this disclaimer was put write on top of the text. Debbie

Yeah, like I said above, I am one, and that "article" is completely fabricated. That's the power of the Internet, sometimes good and sometimes bad: anyone can post anything.
