Well due to circumstances that are too personal to go into, it is imperative that I find some of my pets and one of my horses a new home.
I have made a page for them on my website on the for sale page.

Could you please go there and see what you think???

They need new homes right away and I want to make sure my ad is okay.

Do you know of any free ad places???

I would post on whether or not the dogs are spayed. Also, would suggest you get the cats spayed/neutered before you rehome them, so you will be sure it is done.

Sorry you feel you cannot keep your pets. That is really sad!

It was planned to get them spayed/neutered. Unfortunately the situation being what it is...can't go into details b/c it is very personal...I can't get them s/n. So I'm going to rely on the new homes to do this.

I forgot to mention about the dogs though.

I do not FEEL that I have to find them new homes...I HAVE too.

Have you listed them on Petfinder.com yet?You can put them under urgent and then under the classified section also.Another one that I have heard of is www.hoobly.com
Good luck finding your baby's new homes.I can only imagine the heartache that you feel. And I know it must be an URGENT situation, because you obviously love your animals.

Yes it is an urgent situation.

I have the kittens in the classified section but I haven't been able to find it! I didn't realize there was an urgent section and will go check that out.
I will try the hoobly one too.

Thanks!

I see that you are willing to ship....I have a real issue with shipping intact animals since you cannot follow up and guarentee that they have been spayed/neutered.

I would hope that in the case of an out of state adoption...you would require the animals be spayed/neutered PRIOR to being transported. You can require a spay/neuter fee up front and have the procedure done locally.

You can also post on Craigslist.

Is petfinder only for adoption organizations???? I just went there to add my dogs to the list and looked up my cats....the cat ad has been there for a couple weeks but its NOT there! NONE of my ads are there!!! I see no ads from just people either!

Now what do I do??? Since they won't post my ads...I don't know where else to place this to get the word out.

That is a great idea! If the people would pay up front for the spay/neuter fee, you would be sure they were serious about wanting the animals and planning to care for them. Maybe you could have them pay your vet directly?

Well if you wanted to help me get them all spayed/neutered...I need $210. I can't do this on my own b/c my spouse has left me with NO money. He has taken over the money - opened a checking account where my name isn't on it and he is not allowing me to have money but the little bit that he gives me. I am not working right now and it's gonna take time for me to get a job. So I have issues too with them going to a new home but short of someone giving me the $210 to get the surgeries done....I'm screwed. I'm sitting here crying b/c I am afraid his next power trip will to tell me that my animals don't deserve to eat. I'm sitting here crying b/c I'm afraid he's gonna take them to his father-in-law and have them SHOT!!!! THAT is what I am dealing with!!!!

Now I didn't want to bring my personal stuff to the forum but since some of you seem so critical...I thought I better elaborate.

I'm really sorry you are experiencing such personal issues right now.....what I would do is seriously call all the low cost clinics in your state and see if they can provide free surgeries for your cats or if they would be willing to put you on a payment plan:

http://www.lovethatcat.com/spayneuter.html

Scroll down until you get to your state. I understand your financial situation..but I would hope that as someone who truly cares for your animals..you would want to get them all spayed/neutered just so you knew they were not going to add to the overpopulation.

Most of the urgent ads on petfinder are from shelters that are about to put the animals down. If you posted 2 weeks ago I'm sure other posts have pushed your post down onto the next page. I would post in the rescue section instead. Also, as much as online ads can help..do remember that there are thousands of animals looking for homes...so the best thing is to try to find someone locally.

I would be seriously getting a lawyer. He cannot leave you with nothing, you are entitled to half of your assets unless he has a good reason for the court.
The lawyer can see to it that you are being treated fairly.

I am so so sorry you are dealing with this! My ex was a controlling person who only saw his needs, so I may understand a little of what you are going through. I do know these creeps whittle away at your self confidence a little at a time, so just saying call a lawyer is not usually a solution. Plus the pets have needs now, and legal help will take a while.

It will take you time to correct this relationship issue, and I understand you are not here for advice on that, but for rehoming the animals. (How cruel that you must give up your loved ones because he is a jerk!)

I still don't have much good advice, I'm assuming you don't have any friends who could take your babies for a while. I'm sorry you felt pressured to divulge more than you wanted, but now that I understand the situation a little better I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry to hear you have to rehome your pets. If I were you, I would not utilize the words "get rid of" since it portrays a really negative image and I am sure that is not what you want to convey.

Whatever you do, please spay oir neuter any animal you ship. Otherwise, you may ne sending them to a lab or a puppy mill or God knows what!!! Unless you have someone who do an on site home visit and verify the reference checks, you may be sending your babies to hell and that is not what you want. Hoobly scares the heck out of me - it has a horrible rep, well known among bunchers (who sell cats and dogs to millers and labs for the USDA) - our univ used to buy cats at one time (we soon made them stop!!!! - a long story but Hoobly was one place their bunchers told them about when they did actually tell the truth). Your best bet may well be to set up a Petfinder site or even ask for courtesy ads on rescue sites. Please add pictures. From experience, I can tell you the cat (or dogs from what others tell me, my rescue area is mainly kittties) with a picture - a well done or the best one you have - will help have that cat rehomed 5 times faster than one with no pict. (One of my Residents with too much time on his hands - tho I have no idea how a pediactic resident I keep very busy had that kind of time) actually did a study on this - using about 100 different rescue sites. He has had PhD in biostatristics before coming to med school and his sample was excellent - even his chi square was perfect so I am quite sure his results are accurate!

You may have to do what you can locally - especially with intact animals. Do a very thorough search on the family - home visit, references, contract for no declawing and an insurance they will spay or neuetrer and follow !! - and make sure if they reside in an apt, that the landlord agrees. Ask to see their rental agreement or to speak to rthe landlord - this is your right! And make sure everyone in the family agrees to the adoption!!! Ask about previous pets and if they ever surrendered any and why and verify that with local animal control or SPCA -whoeever has the local contract. These are your babies and you need to find them the best homes. I did all this as a teenager and still do when rescuing cats. (Tho I'd never adopt an intact animal even to the best family and charge them a fee to cover the costs of the s/n - not all of it but some). The only exception is when I was selling a purebred show quality Siamese who to be shown have to be intact and those ppl tended to be on the show circuit already and had impeciccle credentials and I could keep up with the kitten and her/his history. But a pet quality cat - spayed or neutered prior to the cat leaving or a certificate ensuring it would happen and when one family did not, I (as a 17 year old) went and got the cat, with my legal documents in hand. They were in breach of contract!!!

Good luck!!! I hate to see animals - especially cats who are so easily stressed and more homebodies than pooches. But dogs too need their loved ones and feel rejected. Pleasde offer your services to the families if problems occur and provide them with all health records and male sure the animals are up to date on vaccinations!!!

Thanks everyone. I am just not dealing with any of this very well right now. I am working on getting myself moved too but that is gonna take some time b/c of my unemployment right now. He's even threatened to throw my persian in my sig outside b/c he's pooped on the beds. I told him that if he did that he could go out too! Of course my cats inside are going NO where. So I am definately going to be screening the people who take my pets. This is sooo stressful and on top of it all I have my college finals this week.

Major prayers and vibes to you!!! I agree with CyberKitten that you should include pictures in your online ads if possible. I'm so sorry you are going through this and I really wish I could offer more helpful advice. Maybe you could contact some local rescue and TNR groups to see if they can help you get your babies speutered and maybe even foster them until you can get back on your feet.

Unfortunately when there is a domestic problem, the animals are the easiest ones to hold hostage. Is your situation such that you could get a restraining order to keep the spouse away from the house? those are good for 90 days, and would give you time to sort things out for the animals.

Yes I'm working on the local rescues and will be this week after my final is done. Then I can get their pics up and everything. I also have another kitty that needs rehomed but he just had surgery and is not ready to go to a new home yet.

I don't know if I could do the restraining order. I will have to think on that.

I'm sorry if Hoobly is a bad place.I haven't heard any horror stories of there. But, I also haven't posted ANY ads there either.
As for the restraining order, has he threatened you in any way?If you can answer YES, you CAN get one!!!It may be called a PPO or DVP or another name. But,once you are threatened.....you have the right to protect yourself from the "abuser".The are good for 60 days to 6 months, depending on your state laws.Once you have one, and the "abuser" comes within a stated distance of you, they are breaking it and can face jail time.
Have you called your Vet and asked to post their pics and adoption info on their boards? When I take Blaze to see her Vet, there are always animals with pics up there for adoption.
I am also sending prayers your way.I've been in a similar situtation, only I had 2 skin kids and not fur kids.(my ex-husband)
