Good morning fellow pet-lovers,
After writing an email to Captiva this morning, I thought I`d modify and copy and paste a part of it here as follows:
I just got up and sat myself down to check emails and yahoo messages and thought I`d tell you what our "boys" have been up to this morning already.
I see that Hubby left his coat hanging on the back of the din room chair last night and just realized that cats, Toby and Tedy were using it for a "tent" to play in ....(remember when we were kids and did that with blankets over the clothesline?) ....well he`s most certainly going to have to take the lint brush or sweeper to it before he wears it anywhere!
They also have been working at undecorating the bottom part of the Christmas tree.....AGAIN! Red plastic "balls" adorn the living room and kitchen floors, along with a couple of silk poinsettas that have been demolished.
They have the rugs rolled up onto the doors...( do ya think that might be their attempt at keeping thieves from being able to get the doors open while we were sleeping?)
Every toss pillow is either laying flat on the couches and chair, or on the floor... and kitty toys are EVERYWHERE!
I found thatTedy has been dumpster diving in the wastebasket in the bathroom again. Apparently somebody put a Q-Tip in there, probably buried under several "now-shredded and evenly distributed across the batroom floor" Kleenex, even after I`ve warned against it....cause he loves and can smell them a mile away! (I found the little stick with both tips pulled off.....and thankfully I found both cotton ends or I`d be worried that he ate them!)
The stockings that were hung by the TV with care,
they are all down, not a one of them there.....
(sorry about the cheap attempt at rhyming...I just could`nt resist the perfect opportunity) ....and now, if you can believe it, since i`ve gotten up and sat down here with my first cup of coffee at the puter, they are both laying, one on the desk and the other at my feet, purring and acting just as mild as you please.
It`s as if , in the midst of this disaster, they are saying "NO Mom! Not us! WE did`nt do it!!!"
Ahhhhh the joys of being a "Meowmie!" (As they say on TCS)
So...what have your "babies" been up to...or do you have "Good Kids"?
Gotta go and get myself busy cleaning this place up.
(Anybody know a way to train cats to clean up their own mess?)
Linda

Wow!! Sounds like my house this morning. My crew actually broke the head off one of my ceramic wisemen. Don't worry I keep superglue just for this purpose. Poohbear had taken baby Jesus's place in the nativity barn. Pushed Mary and Joseph right on out.
Tree skirt was in the kitchen along with 3 of the 5 stockings hung on the wall. I only lost one ball from the tree and the dogs ate that one.

Two presents have been shredded. I don't even know why I bother to wrap early.

Hehehe! Sounds like they practically had a night out on the town with all your belongings! Reminds me of when Glory used to sit in the manger. No matter she took up the entire thing of course! Somehow as many times as she knocked everything down in there nothing ever broke! Good craftsmanship I guess? Super strong porceilin or something!

Kinda uneventful here last night, My Grandson spent the night and Dunkin put the little super balls in both of his shoes, he does it when anyone comes here
I think he's sharing when he likes people

But today is the BIG Day, I have had the tree up bare for 2 days
Now the ornaments will go on with lots of fruit and stuff, I will try and quickly get a picture as I do not beleive they are going to leave it alone, Miniman so far has just bee laying about half way up

I think I have a plan though. Once the stuff is on it and I have some presents under there, this is my new invention knowing they don't like tape
( Hopefully) I am taking Carpet tape double sided and I am putting it all the way around the tree,I may put it on a board instead of the carpet. sooooooo if the step on that trying to get to the tree they won't like I hope
, and my new invention is called
"KittyCat tree tact"
This is Sunday so Please Pray for me and my Tree, I have 8 cats this year last year I had 4, and I don't know if this is going to work, this is just s a proto type but if it woks I may patient it

your house sounds harmless compared to mine, kaylee stole a new toilet roll and while i was asleep she shredded it all up in the room, teufel tipped his basket and found all the toys, you will find toys all over the room, i actually woke up from them knocking my box over luckly nothing broke and shredded the news paper, i have big ikea bags of stff in it and kaylee decided to piss in it! its got cables and all that sort of stuff and it purely stinks!!!!!! ANd i forgot to say that they have been attacking the aquarium and managed to open the tin of fish food, can you immagine what MY room looks like????
Right now teufel is asleep on the cat tree but kaylee is looking for more trouble! such as trying to play wth Bunny haha

We had gold garland up along both sides of the long hallway, and all the way around the front room. Now the only place it remains "up" is where it runs over a curtain rod. Everywhere else it runs along the floor now, so they can easily get into it. (I know, tinsel is NOT good for kittens, I will get it up more securely later today.)

My folded stack of towels has fallen off the back of the couch onto the seat, thanks to Festus for making herself a comfy bed. And the human kids have made a real mess!

We haven't put the tree up yet, but I plan to leave the breakable ornaments in their boxes again!

With 5 cats this year and no visitors coming I decided no tree so don't have that problem. But my waste basket was upended and shredded during the night and the NEW paper in my printer has bite marks all over it!

Ellie decided to bring in a mouse she caught (it was very cold out and snowing this morning) and I chased her all over the house with it. In the end she went out with it again and I thought that was that. But I found it an hour ago, in the laundry room, neatly eaten down the top half with the entrails and skin laid out separately. Nice.

Hmmmm....sounds like they're busy!
Mine are usually pretty good, but dumpster diving is a common occurance around here. And Bob threw up yesterday, and Rain loves to help clean those up...I'll let you imagine how...

I am SO glad mine sleep when WE sleep
But Lily did manage to pull an ornement off the tree a few mins ago. Just sniffed it and walked away. YAY!
I haven't had glass ornements on my tree since my oldest son was born and dont plan on ever having them again since I know even when the kids are grown and out of the house, I'll still have grandbabies and kitties!

Under the cats, mostly.
muahahaha I think you guys must be having a GREAT time!!
Tosca is really bad for finding toilet rolls or kitchen rolls and just entirely mutilating them - I woke up to snow INSTDE the apartment a couple of days ago. She'd also been into a box of washing powder I'd forgotten to put back in the cupboard after doing laundry with it and the black and white kitchen floor was jsut white all over. There was also a strange white cat sitting in the kitchen that i'd never seen before.... right in the middle. Looking innocent. She steals my cups pf tea and glasses of milk (well, anything that ISN'T in HER bowl) and food... well we jsut can't keep her off the dining room table - we did come to a compromise though - there are only two of us to use the diningroom table at any mealtime, so we sit at one end, and Tosca can sit up at the other end up against the wall. That way we all get what we want! God help you if you get up and leave your plate unattended though!!

We also have a kind of a fig plant in the diningroom end of the livingroom - which Tosca has perforated to beyond recognition. It stande close to the windowsill, and she gets up there and just punches little holes in the leaves! Never eats it, never chews... just punches a couple of holes and then finds another leaf! So one side of the plant looks perfect (and that's the side the guests see) and the other side is hrm...a Sunday side - very hol(e)y.
She's a dumpster diver too..... usually if there's something remotely edible that's been thrown in the bin, she'll go after it! She also sits on top of our two enormous bookcases.... and takes a dive at anyone walking past if she's in a really playful mood. She always lands with a thump hard enough to make me think she'll go through to the flat underneath us! I gave her a bit of a fright one night while she was up there and she very nearly went through to the flat above too!

All in all... she's a cat!

Wow sounds like they had a cat party all night! Mine thankfully sleep good at night. All but Lily the kitten she likes to roam around some in the night. Mainly she gets up in my Christmas village and takes all the little Christmas trees down and knock over all the little figurines.
