My old cat has the worst breath due to poor dental hygene (we're talking years of neglect before my ownership here) anyone ever take their cat to the vet to have the teeth scaled?? He'd have to be put under GA for the procedure, which I'm not entirely comfortable with . Advice??

If his teeth are that bad, I would put away your concern and be sure you take him to vet who specializes in dental health. Bad teeth and gums can lead to major health issues in cats, just like it can in humans.

My Molly had this procedure done twice with no problems. They did extract some teeth both times.

Cool! Thanks for you reply. Just wanted to know who else had their cat's teeth done and how it went for them.

Kandie has had many dentals ( no extractions thankfully) ... Her last two have been after her CRF diagnoisis so try not to worry to much...
