There is a section in the Toronto Star that is called "Test Drive" and they test various products. This week it was Cat litter so I thought I'd share it with you folks.

It is rated out of five stars on: Dustiness, Kickability, Paw print factor (how much gets stuck to kitty's feet and tracked through the house and the "retch factor", i.e., how well the litter contains odour. In all cases the litter was scooped morning and night and the test was done over a period of 8 weeks.

Exquisicat Crystals - 4 1/2 stars
World's Best Extra Strength - 4 stars
Exquisicat Enviro-Friendly Pine Litter - 3 stars
Exquisicat Advanced Scoop Premium Clumping Litter Paper Formula - 4 stars
Maxx Scoop - 3 1/2 stars
No Name's Scented Clumping Litter - 2 1/2 stars
Compliments Happy Tails Scoopable Cat Litter - 3 stars
Kitty Litter Scoop - 1 1/2 stars.

Just thought I'd share this with all of you.

Interesting...but they missed quite a few well-known brands. Like Tidy Cats, for example. Would that be because Tidy Cats isn't sold in Canada?

Thanks for sharing. I have to agree that WBCL is a very good litter. I am still using the original formula though.

Thanks for sharing. This was intresting...but i`m still sticking to my cheap Tidy cat....I end up always going back to it, so I`ve decided not to try any other brands.
I wonder who was hired to do the "sniffing " part of this survey???? :-)
