When ever Karma drinks from her bowl she seems to guzzle it really fast. She drinks as much as she can as fast as she can. When she is done she acts like she has a hairball or gets the hic-ups. Her bowl is always full, she can drink whenever she wants so I know she's not dehydrated. Is she weird or do other cats do this? Oh and she also hates cold water. It has to be room temp.

My Callie prefers water fresh from the tap and she always burps when she's finished drinking. She doesn't guzzle it or anything. I think it may just be normal.

Excessive thirst is a symptom of something....can't really remember right off the top of my head....diabetes? Thyroid?

Excessive thirst generally indicates a kidney problem - You might just want to mention it to the vet and see what they think.

She doesn't show any signs of anything. Its more like she has no idea how to use a water bowl. She was a stray who's 2. She also likes to drink the little puddles of water in the bottom of sinks and the tub. When she uses a bowl her nose and chin get soaked.

My Pepper constantly uses her paw to drink. She dips her paw in the water dish and licks the water off of it. We thought it might be the chlorine in the city tap water (a new one for us in our new house -- had a well previously), but even since I switched to giving them water filtered through the refrigerator, she still does it. She does drink regularly some of the time, too.
