There are 4 cats in my home, ages 7, 6, 5, 4. Yetserday I accidentally stepped on the oldest one. Immediately after that the 6 yr old attacked the older one, and since then the oldest one either hides in the bedroom, hisses at the 6 year old (who continues to try and attack), and growls and sometimes hisses at the younger two cats.
This is not normal behavior for these cats, they are usually a pretty close knit bunch. Is there anything I can do???

This sort of thing can happen and can last up to a few weeks. I would put the 6 year old in a seperate room for a little while. It will give everyone a chance to calm down and it will allow your 7 year old a little break. Then I would try and "reintroduce" them. Once they have settled down some, they usually go back to being friends again.
