What to feed a 4 month & a 16 month? Help!

Hi...I am a new cat owner...I have always owned dogs. I fell in love with a 4 month old ragdoll. I got him AND his mom. She is 16 months. I free feed them Authority for indoor cats as was suggested by the breeder. But I find he has a lot of gas. Can I feed him the kitten food ? the mom will get it too though. I cant separate them to feed them because they nibble through out the day. Any suggestions?

I feed my 6 and 8 month olds innova evo kibble, suitable for kittens and cats. It stinks up the house, but the cats love it and I have no problems with gas.

Gas is pretty common in kittens. I'd recommend treating him for worms again since that might be a contributing factor. But other than that, they seem to outgrow it by 6 months or so.
