When my husband got deployed to Afghanistan, I had to come back home to live with my family in CA (was working in NC but wasn't making a lot, didn't have any family, didn't know how long he'd be deployed, and couldn't drive my DH's stick-shift - needless to say, not the greatest situation) - but my dad is terribly allergic to cats!!Originally Posted by Big-Cat-Fan

May I ask where he is now?
That's so cute! That makes sense that when babies sleep like this, they're very secure and are very trusting! And the funny thing is, we used to treat Mochi like a baby.Originally Posted by Mom2SalemIsis

I know how hard it is giving away your babies. I had the hardest time when I had to give away Lilos 5 kittens. I was heartbroken for so long. What really helped me through it was knowing that I picked the very best homes for them . The first to leave were 15 weeks old!! I told my husband that Id wait forever before I would have given them to just anyone.Originally Posted by sumosmom

My husband and I still miss Mochi - esp. my husband! He was not a cat person when I met him, and is still mildly allergic, but he picked Mochi and they were so close. They always cuddled up watching TV together every night. My DH still says he cannot forgive me for giving away his cat!In retrospect, I probably would've brought Mochi with me and just kept him in my room away from my dad, vacuumed every other day or whatever would've worked, just to be able to keep him with us. I really regret not bringing him with me. (It hit both of us REALLY hard after we gave him away - didn't realize how much it would hurt.)But I think he found a wonderful home and he filled a need in their family, as well. *sigh*We still have our memories (and a zillion photos)!
