Christmas Display

Thread Starter
Here is a local Christmas display that is making national news for reasons other than if it is a Christmas/Holiday display. I think the only thing you can call it is tasteless. I can think of many other people that deserve a shrine to them.

Hanging Santa
The Paris Hilton display is obsessive and wierd. The hanging Santa is...um....creepy. He says it's "artistic expression". I just can't figure out if it's a comment on the commercialization of Christmas, against Christmas in general, or against those who are against Christmas essentially killing it. If it's artistic expression, he isn't expressing himself very articulately!

Both displays are made by people that sure "Walk to the beat of a different Drummer!"
That's so tacky!

The Paris Hilton one I can kind of understand if you are an obsessed fan.

The hanging Santa is just plain rude and offensive - If you don't like Christmas, then just don't say anything at all.

I can get the xmas one as a stand against Christmas etc (even if I don't agree with it) but Paris Hilton???? He doesn't do/say anything to back up it being a stand against commericialism so its just sad

Yeah, I agree. I did actually get a laugh out of poor old santa, but I can see why the neighbours would not be amused. As for Paris Hilton: enough! Argghhh. That is one sad 38 who idolises her to the point of creating a Christmas shrine. although he has got himself some publicity! What about copywrite for those photos?!
This guy gets his 15 minutes of fame twice? That's at least one time too many.
That is pretty offensive to me

I think the Paris one is a bit wrong, but hey, he's a fan - I know if I could I would display big pics of my kitty kats for all the world to see!! Lol....

Unfortunately Paris isn't one of those celebrities that would feel embarrassed by it - I'm sure she'd relish the extra attention.

"Past tributes include Madonna, Princess Diana, and Liberace."

Can we say ETERNAL FLAME, boys and girls? LOL

As for a Paris Hilton Christmas ... the metaphor for her is, if one light goes out, they all go out. LMAO
