I recently posted about thinking my female unspayed cat was peeing in clean laundry. I took her to be tested for a UTI and it came back negative. Then today while I was in the closet I saw my male cat squat and pee in my boyfriends basket of socks. This is only the second time he's done this and while I had the closet closed he didn't pee anywhere else. Could this be behavioral or is it possibly a UTI?

Yes he is neutered. I'm thinking he's a little bit 'slow' though. He does strange things after he got sick and had some seizures. I haven't noticed any straining to pee or lack of the amount he's peeing.

Actually males are more at risk of UTIs, especially blockages caused by crystals, because the urethra is longer than in females.

But what you describe does sound more like a behavioral issue. If he pees on the socks again, it should be easy to see if there's any blood in the urine.
