My male kitty Orei, has been acting REALLY strange lately. He's showed no agressions with humans, but has played too roughly with my female, Princess. They are both fixed, of course. She'll be laying down, minding her own busness, and he will jump on top of her, bit the nape of her neck, and kick and pull on it...O_O;; This continues until she growls or cries, or I have to pull them apart...Poor baby..

He usually gets along perfectly with her, they're the best of friends...I have never seen this behavior before. He's still nice to her most of the time, but this happens every other day.

He is being an alpha male. Make sure his bowl of food goes down first, then hers immediately follows. Have a cat condo in the house so he can get higher than her, don't let them share anything, beds, toys litter pans or water bowls. Acknowledge that he is alpha and this will slow down a bit.

Are they both neutered? He sounds like he is trying to mount her, which can happen even if he is fixed if she starts going in to heat. I recall a very comical display when a female kitten went into heat earlier than we expected, and our 10-year-old neutered male would get on top of her (in the middle of her back, no less), in a well-intentioned effort to be of some assistance. LoL

You said "this continues until she growls or cries" -- so if I understand correctly he stops when she complains? Then you have nothing to worry about. Their interactions are completely normal. He's trying to be the dominant cat. Just let them work it out.

Hello, Jenny my friend! I miss your posts, but I am very glad you are focusing on your school work and school friends!

I think you should follow Hissy's advice, and then leave them to work it out.

I miss you all, too!
Thank you very much.

I appreciate this, everyone. I was worried. Phew!
