Will a cat eat too much if you put the whole bag out?

My friend is going away for a week and has 2 outdoor cats. He leaves the garage open for them to sleep in and feed. He asked me if he left enough food for a week out, would the cat eat it all up in a day or two or would it pace itself all week. What do you think?

I have no clue. I usually have a friend come over and feed my angels every day and change the water, monitor the litter box, etc.

It depends on wether they are free fed or have feeding times.

But I would have someone come over to make sure they were alright, and feed them and make tsure the litterbox is clean and that they ahve fresh water.

They will generally eat all the food in sight. He would be better to hire a petsitter or a friend to come and check on the cat and feed. That is a long time to leave a cat by himself.
