I have to admit it, I am FASCINATED by this show. Ian says he hates seeing animals who have been abused and neglected, but I don't look at it that way. I like watching the agents do thier jobs, specifically for animals in need. And then, there's always the part where they throw the bad guys in jail and the animals get adopted out to much nicer families. I am hooked on this show! ANd the episodes are new!!

Anyone else watch this?

My husband and I have the very same conversation. Sometimes it is hard to see a bad case, especially when it involves animal fighting or cat hoarders because there aren't any good outcomes other than putting the animals out of their misery. But then there are the ones where animals that keep sweet dispositions despite the abuse and find new loving homes.

I used to not be able to cope with this show - I was always in tears within five minutes. But one time I made myself stick through to the end and you're right - there are many happy stories that are very uplifting, and the bad guys often DO get punished, which is so often not the case in these situations. It's a great show - very educational as well as inspiring

I watch the show when ever I catch it on. It makes me sad to see so many animals mistreated like that.
But it's great when the show an animal find a furever home and the new owner obviously loves it.

I'm one of those deprieved kids that doesn't have cabel, satelite, or whatever. The whole point is, I don't get to see Animal Cops.
I watched a couple of episodes whenever I can at someone else's house, but haven't seen any for months. I liked the happy endings in the ones I saw.

I watched a particularly nice one the other day, where a dog had been kept in the yard tied up by its owner for so long that his collar had grown into his neck. He needed surgery to remove it, but when he recovered he turned out the be the most beautiful natured dog. They did all these behavioural tests on him to make sure he was suitable for rehoming, and he was just so calm and happy and laid back and affectionate, it was just lovely to see. What a beautiful doggie, and what great people for saving him from a desperate situation.

I ahve been watching these shows for 3 years.
but back then it was only ANimal Cops Detriot.. now they have Houston, San Fransico and Miami.. as well as Animal Precinct which is New York..

I love these shows.. sometimes its hard to watch but at least most of the times the bad guys are punished for what they ahve done.

Animal Cops is definately a teriffic show. But my REAL favorite is Emergency Vets. I don't watch a lot of TV, (Too hooked on my computer!
) but Animal Planet is my favorite channel.

Is Animal Cops like the British Animal Hospital with Rolf Harris?

I agree. It can be quite emotional, even gruesome. It hurts so much because there are people out there treating animals this way. I'm just glad that this show is educating the masses on what is going on, and perhaps teaching them new ways if they are mistreating their animals.

This show honestly changed my mind about getting a pedigree cat from a breeder and getting a shelter cat instead. It feels so good to have rescued an kitty!

Not really, Animal Cops focuses on the cruelty side of it but with happy endings, where as Animal Hospital is mainly about people taking their sick animals to the hospital to be treated, but again with happy endings

Ok, thanks. I recall there are lots of cruelty cases (dealt by RSPCA people) in Animal Hospital too. OT: I think the vets in AH are much too nice to some of the idiot owners, sometimes giving the impression it's OK to do something that really isn't. I know, the show is about cute animals, not preaching, but still...
