OMG! And to think they trusted that man to HELP their pet!

Also, I saw on the ticker of my local news last night that a former NYPD officer was sentanced to 1 year in jail for killing kittens. Does anyone know anything more about this? They didn't actually say anything on the news so I don't know if it is a local story or not.

I hadn't heard anything about that. People like that make me sick!!

I was just at another web site that had pictures of victems of animal abuse. I can't even begin to imagine what goes through these sick !@#$ minds when they do these things to animals. The really disturbing thing about it all is that most of the cases were dismissed or the abuser got a fine.

If I found out that my vet was doing bad things to my cats, I'd be in jail for assault and battery. I've always said, i love my So but he can take care of himself, my cats can't so i am the person who takes care of them..so nothing bad ever better happen to them while I am around or god help the person that did it.....

Kitten Killer Gets Year in Jail
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) - A former prison guard was sentenced to a year in jail Friday for crushing five kittens to death in a trash compactor.

Ronald Hunlock's offense was ``so offensive and so calculated and so gratuitously cruel it diminishes the humanity of everybody,'' Justice Kenneth Lange said.

Hunlock, 48, was convicted of aggravated cruelty to animals.

He discovered the newborn kittens and their mother in an inmate's cell at Sing Sing last March and ordered the inmate to put them in the compactor. When the inmate refused, Hunlock did it himself. The mother cat escaped.

``I made a bad decision and I'm sorry,'' he said.

Defense attorney Daniel Gallivan said Hunlock thought the cats were deathly ill.

I agree with Debby, that poor dog!!! I'm really glad I can trust the people at my own veterinary clinic!

I remember that story. The prisoners stated that you could hear the screams of the kittens all over the prison block, and the mom was trying desperately to save them and I think it also said he made the prisoner who owned the kittens watch. I think that guy should have been tried for torture too. The constitution says you shall not endure cruel or unusual punishment. This guy, acting as an extension of our prison system, forced this prisoner who was obviously an animal lover to endure a horrible horrible scene. Animal and human abuse. Then they should imprison him in the general population of that prison. Yeah, I'm mean. BS that he's sorry, and BS that the kittens were ill.

you better believe if that prisoner was me, there'd be one less gurad there that night.... but that trash compactor would have lots of stories to tell... sorry but I am an avid animal lover and when i hear about sick things like this, it makes my blood boil!
I have a friend that has her cats in the basement 24/7 and I can't even go over there without going down and seeing if they have food and water and a clean litter box. they are down there because they got a dog and they don't like the dog at all so they atay down there. it is a finished basement and has heat so I am ok with it, but still trying to talk honey into taking a couple of them off their hands...

OMG, that story just about made me physically ill. I just do not understand how anyone could do that. I don't care if you don't like cats or not. How can someone just kill small defenseless creatures like that, and in such a cruel manner?? I hope he is put in general population, and the inmates let him know exactly what they think about him.

OMG!!!! I can't believe that people would do such horrible things to poor helpless animals! Those poor kitties and doggie. :,( Those bas@$%&s should rot in jail for a long time!

That story about the prison gaurd is one of the worst I have heard lately!!!
He should have gotten more than a year, but at least they did that much. I am afraid I will have nightmares about that one!! And to make the poor guy watch!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was bad enough when the prison gaurd squashed that inmates pet mouse, in The Green Mile, but it was just a movie, and this is real!!!!

 I say if you don't have the money and the time to take care of animals DO NOT GET ONE !!!!!!!  I have my cats Bella and Thunder and I would do anything for them and would never hurt them.  I would use my last dollar to make sure they have liter and food. They are my life. They are fixed now and are indoor  cats. I'm afraid to let them outside cause the way I am I'm afraid they may not come back. My kids are grown and I consider my cats to be our babies  I call them '' My Girls'' when it's time for bed and they come upstairs and lay down. I haven't had a dog since I was pregnant with my daughter 33 years ago.  We are cat people. Don't get me wrong (my daughter has 2 dogs and I like them too but I feel cats are my calling. ) I would not go past 2 cats. Every time I see Animal Plant or those commericals  for abused animals it make me cry. I have to turn the channel. I saw that one commerical long time ago where those cows were abused. I think everyone has  seen it. It was a shame !  I want to send money but can't right now. So if you can please donate for the sake of the animals. Thank you
