Andy has been using Tidy Cats litter for a while. Now that heâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s bigger and plays more, he drinks a lot of water and when he uses his box, at least one of his feet gets wet. Do any of you know of another litter that could absorb liquid faster?

P.S. forgot to mention. Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s the regular hard clumping litter, blue line.

That`s the kind I use with 2 cats a little over a year old...and no problems. (I`ve tried LOTS of different kinds and have always gone back to Tidy Cat)
What size is his litter box? Could he have outgrown it and has a hard time turning around to get back out without stepping in his own pee?
I bought a large plastic storage container at walmarts , threw away the lid, and cut a section on one side about 7"x7" (cuting down from the top edge 7" ,then across 7" and back up the 7" to the top....does that make sense the way i wrote it? ) It makes a nice , big kitty litter box and the high sides helps if your kitty ever "misses" the box or is an energetic litter flicker.

He has the jumbo petmate enclosed box; itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s the biggest enclosed box that I could find. Yes, I understood what you said, and itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s an excellent idea, if I need to change box later Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ll try that. I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t think the problem itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s the size of the box, I think he pees a lot at once. I saw him, and the pee spreads everywhere faster than absorb ion, and it gets to his feet. Have you used the litter for small spaces?

No...I don`t know what that is.
Some folks on here really like the scoopable, clumping kind of litter (where the pee clumps up, I think almost immeadiatly.) It looks like sand, and you are not supposed to have to do complete changes nearly as often...just scoop the lumps of poops and pees out and add a little litter every few days to replace what comes out when you scoop.
If you need to know more about how often to change it, etc, there should be a lot of info on here. maybe go to the search and type in "litter". You`ll probably get more "Hits" than you`ll know what to do with. And very likely you will find something about the litter for small spaces that you asked about as well.
This is a great site for just TONS of cat info of all kinds.
I hope you find an answer that helps.

Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m sorry I wasnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t clear, itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s called Tidy Cats Scoop Small Spaces, and itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s new. I was wondering if this new litter is better absorbing (clumping) liquids before it spreads all over. Thanks for your comments.

I don't like that litter, and I think it makes crumbles faster. It also has a funny smell. I would try Arm & Hammer or Fresh Step, or another one of the Tidy cats - maybe the red one.. BTW I found a note in my Tidy Cats tub yesterday that they are changing the formula of the blue kind! They had a picture that shows how the granules will look!

I like Swheat scoopable litter. I am using the Tidy Cats now, but I bought some Swheat today because I don't like the Small Spaces stuff. I really like the Arm & Hammer, too. It was really good when Twitch has the "runs". Kept her from making a mess of herself.

i'm different, because i like the small spaces better than the regular because the granules are larger & don't track as much. i don't think it's any more absorbent than the other, tho.

I really like Worlds Best. Its made of corn and is flushable. The pee clumps really well and absorbs very fast. I've scooped right after they pee and it comes out totally holding together and solid. I've tried a bunch of different litters trying to come up with the best for me and that is it so far. I live in a really small space so I was looking for clumping, flushable and not dusty. Worlds Best seems to do all of those.

I use World's Best too. Mainly because I'm allergic to clay litter dust. It does absorb liquid pretty fast. The smell is a little strange at first if you are used to clay litter, but it's not like people will walk into your house and see, gee it smells like corn in here
It smells less strange to me than some of the scents they put in clay litter. I think I might be allergic to the scents too, because i have the same reaction to laundry detergent and dryer sheets.
