Hi I hope someone can help. My cat Mini seems to be showing signs of pregnancy. She was a rescue cat which was left in a box outside our house when she was 6 weeks old. We fostered her and because of being parted so early from her mother so would comfort herself by suckling on her teats. Last night she came on the bed and began to suckle her teats but I noticed she had a white liquid around her mouth. I then gently felt her abdomen which was very hard and I am assuminig she is pregnant although she only seems a little larger than normal. If she is pregnant and is lactating how long will it be before the kittens are born. We do not know when she was calling (on heat) because she never made a noise (she is a farm cat though so that may have something to do with it). Many thanks for any help.

She sucks on her own nipples? I don't think thats a very healthy behavior, though they do try to find an alternative when they are weaned to early.

How old is she now? If she hasn't been spayed yet and is a barn cat then she probably is pregnant (they can get pregnant as early as 6 months sometimes, though its not healthy for them). If she's had multiple heats then that can be a problem health wise if left unspayed too but if shes producing milk then I would guess shes pregnant.

Definitely worth a vet check. If she is pregnant then make sure to get her spayed after she has the kitties. Otherwise the sooner the better.

Actually I've read that cats can become pregnant as early as 4 months of age.

Was this cat an indoor/outdoor cat? Do you feel or see any "movement" in her stomache?? Typically cats lactate very close to giving birth...are you certain she hasn't already had her kittens?
