Isn't that recipe just your basic Christmas Plum Pudding Recipe by another name? And yes, years ago suet was used a lot in place of our current shortning today.

Sounds quite good to me! Especially with a Rum Sauce!

depends on what brand of pudding. some brands have clumping agents that are vegetarian.
jello and marshmallows have by-products in them for sure though. i always read labels because i'm a vegetarian of 13 years

I've never liked Christmas pudding, figs or no, because it's far too rich for me to handle. I always make a sherry trifle (and this year I think it's going to go down really well
