Well, here is a pic of one of the new foster kittens, who I call Blue. I did not get a pic of her shy sister, but they look alike...except Red wears a red collar
.

Here she is doing a tango with Festus and Garfield. (Actually, they are looking for treats which I sprinkled on the floor!)

Festus

Garfield

And the other foster, Sugartoes

(Note the decorative fluffiness of the couch leg. So much nicer on a leather couch to have it used as a scratching post...)

So gorgeous...they all are. How are your cats with the introduction of the fosters? And how can you bear to part with your fosters?
(i'm asking because i'm volunteering for a rescue organization and i might start fostering)

The cats are doing well with the fosters. Often they don't meet, like my guys never met Sugars babies. She was kept totally separate until they were adopted out. Then you just have to introduce slowly, like any new cat. Garfield and Festus are only 1-1/2 years old, and have been having fosters coming in since they were pretty young.

Garfield accepts new kitties better than Festus, most of the time. But this time, Festie is the one who is just loving Blue. The babies have collars with bells on them, and I think Festie thinks Blue is just a really fun toy! They play chase, and play with toys. Red just hides, but hopefully she will tame soon. They were both ferals and I didn't get them until 10 weeks, so I do worry about Red. Blue isn't real "people friendly" yet, but I think she will end up just fine. I'm not so sure about Red.

I think of fostering like babysitting. They aren't my cats. Of course, I could keep any I want, but luckily dh is sensible. And I really like getting new babies, so it is good to send the current batch off to their forever homes. It is like sharing the love. And so many more need help. It is so rewarding to know you are doing something good, while having fun playing with babies or cats. Then when I get sick of cleaning litterboxes for 5, I take a break and my 2 seem low maintenance!

Oh Becky...they are so adorable (taking your word for it that Red looks like Blue)
You have a really GREAT attitude about your fosters! (That you look at it like babysitting...that they are not your cats)
It`s wondeful to know there are such selfless people in the world! (Sorry I`m not one of them....if i fostered I`d just be a horder....I would`nt be able to let them go!)
Linda PS sorry so selfish!

I'd be just the same, Linda!

Oh, I just adore Sugar Toes - she reminds me so much of my RB kitty, Disco!!

Blue is gorgous too!
(as I imagine Red is too!)

Festus and Garfield seem to do really well with your fosters too!! Bless them!

Red and Blue, in the cage. Blue is the one who is closer, Red is hiding behind her brave sister.

They have free run of the house, now, and hide under dd's bed rather than in the cage! LOL!

Festus showing off her manicure. Garfield says thats sissy stuff!

Honestly, Meowmie, enough pictures already!

Awwww, they are all adorable!
I love Red and Blue in your siggy -- I just love black kitties! You should keep them, Becky.

LOL! If Red stays too skittish, I will probably keep her. But I don't want to sabatoge the kids working with her by telling them that! It would be very fun to give them to the kids for Christmas...must resist furry cuteness.

I would like to become the feral specialist of the foster group-wouldn't it be nice to save little shy kitties who are unwanted just because they are smart and careful? But the more I keep, the less I can foster.

Next week I get another Momma with 5 kittens! Talk about tempting...

Well, Garfield sure gets on my nerves at times, but I have never gone so far as to call him Gar-fiend! LOL!
I'll keep that in mind the next time "Stink Stink Double Stink" doesn't seem harsh enough!!

Thanks for the compliment, they sure do look a lot like your Timmy and Toby, don't they?

On the west side of... of... somewhere.
I thought the name Sugartoes sounded familiar... every so often I browse the petfinder site for local kitties here in Chicago,.. i remember her name... she's such a beautiful girl...

Ooh, if I could afford her adoption fee... she'd give JJ a run for her money as top cat of the house. I'm also hesitating becuase I may be moving again next year... a big move... so I'm not sure I should adopt here until i know for sure what's happening...
