to all of the above...I did check - I am still listed as WYSIWYG editor in the user CP, but it's definitely not working that way.
edited to add - it does seem to be running much faster right now

I agree! The new features I have found and used I just LOVE! Like I said, just some small issues that probably just need a tweak or two.

Edit mode defaults to the simple editor, even though I have my profile set for advanced.

Could we have the default vBulletin style restored as well, please? I haven't run into any other issues, but my eyes would appreciate that one.
Thanks.

I have not been able to use the smilies or the font options. The font options look different as well. The only smilies i have been able to use are the ones that i memorized the code for, because the hand does not form above them. Example(s),

Just tried something out. Most of the problems I was having, including using the Quick Reply and the hard returns, seem to only happen in Firefox (so perhaps in Netscape too?). I can use Quick Reply and am able to get the breaks without hand writing the HTML <br /> code in the post.
In IE, the HTML code doesn't even seem to work on the forums, and don't show up in the editor. Oh, and the smilies seem to work in IE as well.

Very strange indeed!

Thanks.
You should now have a choice of "VB 3.5 Default Grey" - although tbh - there is very little difference between this and your "Office Hours" style.

Most of the editor problems you will experience are because your browser has not downloaded the new javascript files, it's using old cached copies. Use the options in your browser to clear all your old temporary cached files. Also, hold down CTRL and press F5 - this will force most browsers to re-get files it has previously cached.

There are a few images missing from the editor screens which I will sort out later today - I have to go out now for a meal.

Thank you, Paul!! Good work!!

PS - for me, deleting and refreshing didn't fix the edit-mode editor. I'm using IE 6.0 SP2

Thanks Paul!I also use IE 6.0 SP2, but mainly access the forums through AOL software. Deleting and refreshing did work for me with the IE, but not AOL. I will be looking for how to delete and refresh AOL later

I cleared the AOL and it now is working OK. If anyone needs instructions on how to clear AOL:

Clear the Browser Cache Using AOLÂ[emoji]174[/emoji] System Information
Clearing the cache through AOL System Information will clear the cache for both Internet Explorer and the AOL software.
To clear the browser cache using AOL System Information:
1. On the end of the WindowsÂ[emoji]174[/emoji] taskbar next to the clock, right-click the AOLÂ[emoji]174[/emoji] icon in the system tray, then click System Information....
2. Click the Utilities tab.
3. Click the Clear or Clear Browser Cache button.
4. Click the Close button.

I am still not able to use any of the post enhancing functions, nor do I get the extra smilies pop up, other than the basic 18. Of the 18 smilies shown, none are able to be inserted by clicking. As an earlier paster said, you need to know the code to use them. I guess that sums up all the vB features now. I am a Mac OS 10.4 user and browse with Safari.

Tried resetting my default editor in options; tried a different theme -- still getting an editor that's similar to the "Quick Reply" editor when I try to edit my post, instead of the editor set by my options (which is the behavior I had before the upgrade).

It's not that big of a deal...all I have to do is click "Go Advanced" and I have the editor I want.

Looks like smilies ARE working for me, though.

Ok, emptying my cache solved smilies and vB functions, at least the ones I have checked.

Coaster - you had the standard editor selected in your profile - I have changed this to the WYSIWYG editor, see if that is what you were after.

No, didn't make any difference. Advanced editor is what I had before I changed the option. Still getting the basic editor appearing in a pane where the original message is in the thread.

If nobody else is experiencing this, it must be something with my setup, not the new software. I'll keep playing with it, and in any case, the work-around is easy.
