HI Everyone

My name is Jules & I have a 5 yr old Devon Rex. His name is Harley & he is a Blue Smoke & oh so cute.

I got him because I am allergic to cats but alas I am allergic to him also. I have to take extra precautions with him but I would NEVER get rid of him.

He was quite a handful for the first few years but has settled down a lot. Thank Goodness!

Looking forward to posting with all of you!

Jules.

Hi and welcome here to TCS!
I`m glad you have found a way and are able to keep your kitty , even with your allergies....maybe you could share some of your ideas on how you protect yourself....I`m sure you are not the only one on this sight with that problem and someone else might really appreciate your input.

Oh Thanks so much for the welcomes!

I found this site by accident & it seems like there is a lovely bunch of members on here, so I joined.

As for my Harley he is very strong willed. I will post pics after Christmas when I get my Digital Camera. I have had all sorts of comments about his, shall I say unusual looks. A friend of my dau said that he was the ugliest cat he had ever seen. LOL

Not one person I know had ever seen a Devon Rex before we got him.

I wanted him to be an indoor cat but he had other ideas. He used to escape non-stop so now he is allowed out during the day but stays in at night. As for how I get around being allergic to him, he gets bathed once a week & I only nurse him wrapped up in a towel. I also found that by feeding him with good quality food makes a difference, he gets Royal Canin, fresh meat & vegies & chicken necks.

I have Eczema so direct contact with him is impossible. When he was a kitten I didn't have a problem, he used to sleep in bed with me but once he started getting outside thats when the problems began. So I guess technically it is not him but what he gets into outside.

Great to be here.
