For the past few months I have been having the most INSANELY itchy feet - it only happens at night either just before I go to bed, or when I'm in bed. Drives me nuts, keeps me awake, and is completely infuriating and distressing.

Max thinks it's tinea
but I don't have any visible signs - no redness, flaking, peeling or anything.

Any ideas????

Only time I had itchy feet was when I was pregnant. I had Real itchy feet and fingers, which I found out was toxemia (dont know how to spell it) but they found that out, and I was induced, and it went into pre-eclampsia, and my little girl almost died, 2 more minutes and she would have been gone...But I DID it,and here I go OFF track again....

Anyhow, Itchy feet, I dont know...Maybe try some of that powder stuff...Maybe your shoes are too tight and your socks might be irritating your feet, I'd say New shoes, and some powder.

Could possibly be bad circulation? My feet only itched when I was pregnant and the doctor told me it was because I had bad circulation....maybe?

Hmmmm that's a possibility - I do have pretty bad circulation although I know I'm not pregnant!! It's because I'm unfit....

I have really dry, itchy feet, especially at night. Try putting lotion on and wearing socks until you are ready to pass out. Walking around on carpet all day will dry your feet out, and sometimes certain shoes/socks will have the same effect.

And if the lotion doesn't help, or especially if it makes it worse, go buy some athletes foot treatment and use it for a while. Athletes foot is just a yeast infection-nothing to be afraid of.

I assume that Perth is dry, given that you have said it is a desert.
You may have a skin condition called (no idea how to spell it, just gonna use pronounciation) "egg-zemma". i have it, and whenever i am in a place with dry air i break out in itches and sometimes redness.

Yup, same problem here -- and in desperation the other day, I took an old pair of shoes with non-absorbent interiors and just squirted a big glop of Gold Bond medicated moisture cream into each one! After walking around the house awhile, my feet were thoroughly creamed and SO much better!

hmm i never consider that i might have eczema on my feet! i've had cracked, dry skin on my feet for a year or 2, but never thought about it!

I'd go out and buy a couple of new pair of shoes. Just to be on the safe side.

I rarely ever wear shoes. i've been indoors for 7 months --minus doctor visits and grocery trips- due to a knee injury.
so i know it's not that in my case

I've had terribly itchy feet this summer, but never found out what it really was, my doc told me then I had some sort of overly active immune system, causing my "normal" seasonal hay fever to run wild and at the time I also had blisters and bumps on my forearms...maybe stress or an allergy?
It's just my two cents, you know
