Hi,

Some years ago I read a really good novel about a cat, written by a Japanese author. I think it was written from the cat's point of view, but I'm not sure as it's been 10-15 years since I read it.

I'd like to get a copy of it for my girlfriend for Xmas, so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

That's it! Thanks!!!

For those of you who've never read it, I strongly recommending doing so. Even after all this time I still remember how much fun it was to read. This from the publisher:

"I am a cat. As yet I have no name. So begins one of the most original and unique works in world literature and one of the classic novels ever written in Japanese. I Am a Cat by Soseki Natsume is the chronicle of an unloved, unwanted, wandering kitten who spends all his time observing human nature-from the dramas of businessmen and schoolteachers to the foibles of priests and potentates. Begun by Soseki in 1904, and long since a core book for students of Japanese literature, I Am a Cat is the seminal novel of the Meiji era and offers a biting commentary-through the prism of Sosekiâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s training in Chinese philosophy-of the social upheaval of this time period. Richly allegorical and delightfully readable..."

Thanks again, Dan. My gf's gonna love this.
