I joined this forums in hopes someone may be able to help me out. Trying to make a long story short. I travel with my job and sometimes I have to rent a temporary place for 3 to 6 mos. I'm on a 3 mos assignment now and the place I moved into had a prior tenant (Mr Kitty) that the owners left behind.

I can't keep Mr Kitty #1 I won't be here long and worry about what he #2 I have two dogs that will Kill Mr Kitty.

I take Mr Kitty to a no kill shelter (although he's an outdoor cat I don't think he'd do well in the shelter) ...the poor woman had too many cats someone dumped off two litters right in front of me. I didn't have the heart to dump Mr Kitty on her so I gave her $60.00 and went home with Mr Kitty.

I will let Mr Kitty in the house a couple times a day to feed him and I noticed he always cried to go back out before finishing. Thats because Mr Kitty has brought over Mrs Kitty and he wants her to have something to eat also (what a sweety). Mrs Kitty acted so afraid of me of first but I guess watching mr sit on my porch cuddling with Mr Kitty made her want some loving too.

I don't know what to do. I'm due to go home by the end of the month and poor Mr and Mrs Kitty will have no one to take care of them.

Misty....I understand your concern about Mr. Kitty, but to be honest with you...he would probably do better in a shelter than left outdoors (since he was once an owned cat)..so I would contact the woman who owned the shelter to see if she could take him in and try to find him a home. Otherwise, I would go around your neighborhood and see if someone is interested in adopting Mr. Kitty. Make sure you ask a lot of questions to verify that they would be a good home..and if Mr. Kitty is not neutered, you need to have him neutered so he doesn't create any litters.

I totally agree. Those kitties need to be cared for, and a shelter or rescue should be able to help. Best of luck with finding them care!
