Hi, my name is jessica. I just bought a kitten for our family. She is (supposedly) only 3 months old. (BDAY Sept 2 according to the papers.) She is very fat (bloated?) and she has pink nipples already. I was under the impression that their nipples wouldnt turn pink till she was pregnant but also that she is much too young to be pregnant? Is that right?

Also, is it possible for her tummy to be large due to worms or something else? I dont know how to estimate her age or anything and I really know nothing about cats. I will be able to get her a health check as that comes with the cost of her. I am more interested to know now though.

Like any member of my family, I am concerned for her.

Jessica...take her to the vet. The vet can answer your concerns.

Worms and parasites will create a bloated feeling in cats. I'm guessing that's probably what it is since she's probably to young to be pregnant. Usually cats don't come into heat until their 5-7 months old and the size difference in a 3 month old and 5 month old is pretty significant so if she's still tiny she's probably got worms. Bring in a stool sample to the vet and have her dewormed at least once even if there aren't any in her stool. Usually you should deworm at least twice to make sure nothing survives since there can be eggs left over even after the adults are killed.
