Thought this would be fun!:tounge2:

It's story writing time!! I thought we all could collaborate and make up a story. I'll start it off with one sentence and the next person adds another sentence and so on. You can only post one sentence at a time, and you have to wait until someone else posts a sentence after yours before you can post again...Let's begin

It was a hot summer's day and I had big plans for the upcoming weekend.

Great idea!! I loved doing these back in school.

I was able to get off of work early and now found myself anxiously packing my bags for the little trip I was about to be taking.

Hi!

I moved this to the proper forum for you...

Recap:

It was a hot summer's day and I had big plans for the upcoming weekend.
I was able to get off of work early and now found myself anxiously packing my bags for the little trip I was about to be taking.

It was harder than you think, because every time I tried to put something in a suitcase, I had to move the cat out of the way first.

I had to keep double checking that I hadn't forgot anything as I packed my suitcase and that I hadn't accidently packed one of my furbabies.
When I finished, I put the suitcases by the door and petted my kitties one last time to try to calm them, but they kept pacing around as if they didn't want me to leave.

I thought this to be strange since they are usually off napping at this time but I thought nothing more of this as I put on my coat.
That's when I heard it, and suddenly what was upsetting my babies became clear to me....
There was a loud scratching noise coming from my back porch door....
I paused for a second, my mind fumbling to reconize the sound but failed to do so, so I started towards the back door insearch of the sound...

I was in the kitchen when suddenly Blue, my big ol' grey tuxedo cat who usually doesn't even come running for food, flew past me and hurled himself at the back door.
Just as suddenly and surprisingly, my very ladylike and dignified Miss Isabel, a sleek black beauty of a cat, screamed like a banshee and skidded to force herself between me and the door.
I could tell that the cats sensed something I didn't and even though I was terrified, I.....

...crept toward the light switch, turned it off, and strained to look through the window towards the door.
My heart leaped into my throat as a shadowy blob moved quickly across the slider door.
I felt my heart pounding as I tried to concentrate; did I lock it when I got home?
And why couldn't I hear any footsteps on the old wooden porch?
Shaking, but determined to find the source of the noise, I peered into the darkness long enough to catch a quick, stealthy movement at the patio door--the phone, oh Lord, where is it?
I went to answer the phone, but when I picked it up, I heard a small cry coming from the back porch...
I started towards the patio door with my heart in my throat; I have to face it or make an fool out of myself by dialing 911 for nothing!

Not wanting to make a fool out of myself, I put the phone in my pocket and headed for the patio door...
I kept thinking about those horror movies when the woman thinks it's just the cat or the wind, and how we all yell, "Don't go there, you dummy!"

I mustered up every ounce of courage I had, and took a deep breath as I opened up the sliding door to the patio.
At first I saw nothing and I relaxed for a moment-the bushes, the wind, the scratching sound -of course, but then the bushes rustled and visibly moved....

I stiffled a scream as the shadowy figure darted past me and into my house...
Mother-what are you doing here at this time of night, and, for crying out loud, why were you hiding in the bushes???

I looked at her for an answer and she stared blankly back at me, as if she didn't even know me!
"Honey, I thought you'd never hear me; I couldn't make too much noise or he would have heard me," she finally gasped.

"Who might hear you??", I asked, "Is there someone out there?".
