We had a teachers' conference today, with a "Secret Santa". My gift was a collection of teas, one of which is ginger & apple. I put the stuff on the kitchen table when I got home, and Jamie proceeded to rub himself on that bag of tea. I put it away, and now he's sniffing at the cabinet and trying to get it open to get at the tea. I don't recall ever seeing a cat react this way (though Jamie loves gingerbread cookies).

I was slicing some ginger root earlier today, and my kittens didn't have any special reaction to it.

Maybe there's something about the smell of the store it's from, or the house of the person who gave it to you.

That might be. I made some ginger tea today, and Jamie didn't show any interest in the contents of my cup, though he's still after the bag.
