Remember these protests?

This was in today's paper. Remember when they did this at another soldier's funeral and we were all so horrified? This is my town now, where my children attend school and I know the residents. I am mortified that these protests are continuing at fallen soldiers' funerals and memorials, and even more so that it has hit this close to home!

This group of protesters has obviously chosen to ignore God's admonition to "love the sinner, but hate the sin," in favor of their own bigoted interpetation of scripture. Love has nothing to do with their protests, it is all about hate. Okay, so they have a constitutional right to say whatever they want, but they are simply wrong. I just hope they learn the truth before it is too late for them.

I respect everyone's right to free speech but, I thinkthat a certain sensitivity is required. To use someone's death and their family's pain to further an agenda is reprehensible.

They were in my area a few months back.

There are a lot of shortages in the world, but one thing we can always count on.........there is never a shortage of idiots protesting something.

Don't these people have a job, or a hobby, or a dog to walk, or just something constructive to do?

I'm afraid your right there.

I guess I would have to put them in the category of the "lunatic fringe" that will do anything to publicize their beliefs, no matter how insulting.

They protested a soldier's funeral in my town as well. The police formed a baracade with their cars and blocked the protestors view of the mourners and funeral. I think the police did a pretty stand up job. I just can't believe these evil people would ever do such a thing.

I wish they would try that here. (Not that I wish any of our armed forces any harm, I just think it would be fun to have these insensitive morons encounter some of our Marines just back from Iraq.)

What makes absolutely no sense is the fact that the funerals that they are protesting at are not gay soldiers, necessarily...just soldiers, with families and all. These protestors believe that God is punishing America for its acceptance of homosexuality. Talk about a blanket theory!
To do this at a funeral is absolutely CRUEL & HATEFUL! I really don't understand the zealousy against gays. My nephew & I have had a falling out over this same issue - he spent the summer in the MidWest, visiting different evangelical churches, even helping out in LA after the hurricane, and has developed an EXTREMIST hatred of homosexuals, esp. gay men. HE seems to believe the same as these kooks do And since my best friend is a gay man, I did have to set a rule that in my house, I cannot have such hatred and anger expressed, so my nephew left - promising to pray that my eyes be opened. Where are all these "first stone-casters" coming from?

All I have to say is that they need to get over themselves.

Are they so perfect that they have never sinned?? Hmmm....I wonder who will be going through the pearly gates and who will be going straight into the pits of hell.

I feel so sorry for that soldiers friends and family - What a disgrace!

I hope everything goes well for them and that the police are able to keep the protestors away.

Not only do I hate what these protesters are doing, but I ALSO disagree with them about homosexuality being a sin (I just do not feel that it is). I can only pray that they (and other like-minded folks) eventually see the light.

There were protesters here a couple of months ago at a funeral of one of our brave soldiers. The community protested against the protesters by waving flags along the streets to the cemetary. The widow of the soldier just had a baby boy a couple of weeks ago.

The protesters that were here are the one's that camped out at Bush's ranch. I find them dispicable.

I THINK IM GONNA PUKE. this is the stupid churches website. if you look at their contact, they write how 'any physical threats' will be sent to the FBI. GOD I WONDER WHY ANYONE WOULD SEND THEM THREATS? just another proven point on beliefs taken to a brainwashing level..if you look around their website..url alone is soo dumb.

i would give anything to live in a place where there was absolutely NO RELIGION...if anyone knows of a town/place..let me know please, lol.

they also say how matthew shephard has been in hell for 2611 days......im gonna get my barf bucket now. exuse me..

God hates Fags??????
They know nothing these people. I'm sure if you were to study the Bible you would find no reference ANYWHERE to God hating anything or anyone. What a stupid ignorant website.

By the way, to lighten the post a little, in UK a fag is a cigarette...!

yea i am very confused on 'religious' history and what not..i want to learn more.even though i never plan on making it a daily thing in my life. after talking to someone..i think the OLD testament has that sort of "hate fags" or whatever..and yea they explain why they use the term fag (means cigarette, bundle of sticks) but it had to do with a metaphor or something like that..dont get me wrong i've totally gone to a few churches, just fun sunday things..but i am not going to succumb my brain to a priest/church what not..especially one like that! lol

I realize it's probably a little late, but I wouldn't encourage anyone to go to their website. All it does is increase their hits, which justifies them (in their mind) that they are "spreading the message". And if there are ads on the site, it gives them more ammunition to get advertisers (I don't know if they do, I don't want to give them my webhit...)

I thought of the same thing when I saw the link. Guess I should have thought to say that sooner, as well.
