Hello all! This is my first time to use this site but I hope someone can help me out with this problem. I have two cats, a 14 year old female cat and a 6 year old male cat. The problem is with the male cat I have had since 2000. I have a new boyfriend who comes and hangs out and sometimes spends the night with me. My male cat is acting VERY jealous. He will wedge himself between my boyfriend and I while we are watching TV or sleeping, or he will lay on top of me (and he weighs about 18 pounds and this isn't comforatble) when I am trying to sleep. He had now taken to following all over the house all the time, or wants to get in my lap when I am sitting (like using the computer) and he had not really done this before. He isn't biting or hitting yet but I worry he will. My boyfriend always picks him up and pets him when he is over, and I make a point of petting him also when my boyfriend comes over. The issue I have is that the is the first time this cat has done this. I have had other relationships in the years since I have had him (including living with someone). So I don't understand why NOW he is doing this! Any thoughts or suggestions would be so appreciated! Thanks!
