We've had Ghibli for a year now, when I realized this I sent his gummaw (the breeder) some pictures of him fromt he past year. I though I'd do a walkthrough of our little boy (and, he's been requested by his Uncle Sam ^.^ and new Aunt Molly.)

I hope you enjoy!

The picture the breeder sent us, that charmed us!

His First Picture at home

TCS's First look
and might I say, a favorite picture (possibly due to the "boneless van" pose!)

We knew he was going to be trouble.

His first Bath

Lanky Kitten Phase

Gibby's wondering what that smell is.

Ghibli is a Turkish Van
(and a boy, but I agree, it's a shame he isn't a girl he's such a priss.)Thanksfor saying he's lovely, but as you can see from Paige's perspective, he knows it LOL!

Aw, Denise he's grown from an adorable kitten to a truly stunning cat. Ghibli is just gorgeous! And Paige is just beautiful too (not that I'm partial to torties or anything, mind you
).

HAH! ou're looking at 2 of the 3 culprits, but the worst one is not pictured
Molly goes absolutely batty once an eavening and digs herself along the rugs, rabbit kicking them all along the edge. She's hell on carpets. walks around with the other one on her back, the wench!

Gibby, however, steals my socks.

Thanks all for the compliments!

What a handsome boy you are Ghibli! You have all the magnificent behavior and appearance traits of a true native of Lake Van. Thank you so much for sending the photos. Your Uncle Samwise and I hope to see more of you as time goes by. There are so few of us Turkish Vans on TCS.

Sam tells me that boys of the breed become more and more handsome as they get older, and you are a prime example of this. Sam goes on to say that you only have to look at him to see that is the case. Nothing modest about ol' Sam.

Much love and many purrs to you and Mommy Denise.

Oh my gosh! I'd never seen anyone but my Pearl do that "boneless" pose before! She just cracks me up when she turns herself into a pancake like that... or when she does the variation in which her back legs bow out around the back of the sofa and her tail extends neatly along the top. :-)

Is this really a Van thing? I've been wondering what breeds Pearl may have in her... she's a blue/lilac tabby with very fluffy, flyaway shortish hair, but also a ruff around her neck, britches, toetufts, and a fabulous tail not unlike Ghibli's...

Who, by the way, is gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing all your wonderful pictures!

He is so precious!

I was looking at him and his shape reminds me of my mother's cat Olivia. Is he kind of long and thin with a long neck? I know Olivia isn't a purebread cat or anything, but she has a similar build from the looks of him.

Definitely a Van thing.
They are referred to as the "Boneless Cat" as often as they are referred to as the "Swimming Cat." Here is a photo of Ghibli's "Uncle Sam," in his upside down boneless pose. As Sam has done here for his nap, Vans are also great for getting on every horizontal surface in your house, no matter high up it happens to be.

Can you share a photo of Pearl with us?

All the very best,

Oh, that does sound like Pearl -- there is absolutely nowhere she can't get to, and no limit to the derring-do she'll undertake to get there. :-)

I have no digital pictures of either of my babies, which is shameful. I'll try to get my brother to scan some for me soon...
