Just wondering how diverse TCS is, here! It's interesting to get to know people. So what do you celebrate around the Holiday Season? Check all that apply. A poll should be up in a couple of minutes. If you choose OTHER, please explain if you want to.

Also, share your traditions, if you want to.

I am Christian, (the Lutheran denomination, specifically) so we celebrate Christmas. How about you all?

(Forgot to allow multiple choice--sorry) So if you celebrate more than one of them, choose your favorite, I guess.

At the risk of being picky, you left out families like mine who celebate at least two of those. Remember, we live in a diverse society now so you need to m=redo your poll so it is mutually exclusive and exhaustive. Don't feel bad - I am always handing back work my residents hand in that tends to be inexhaustive as well.

For the record, we celebrate Christmas and Hannukah.

Don't worry. This poll wasn't for a fortune 500 publication. It's just the lounge here.

I'm not religious, but I celebrate Christmas because that's what I grew up celebrating. I just see it as a time for good will toward wo/man and all that.
People seem to just be nicer and happier around the holidays.

Celebrate 4 of July, Labor Day, St.Patricks day, New Years Eve/day. Ever since I lost my mom I just don't have the Holiday spirit anymore, especially Christmas. I don't have the holiday spirit expect for holidays I mentioned above. However my girlfriend has been a blessing. She is very cheery and has been getting me in the holiday spirit this year.

Thats sad that you lost your Mom. My Mom is big on Chiristmas and if anything ever happened to her, it would take awhile before I could be in the spirit again too.
I'm glad your GF is helping. Food for thought though - I bet your Mom would want you to be happy on Christmas.

You are right she would want me happy. It was her favorite holiday. Just hard without her. There is nothing like a mother's love. But trust me my girlfriend is doing an excellent job at getting me in the holiday spirit. She got me to sing Christmas songs with her last night.
Which I have not done in a LONG time.

Christmukah!

That's Christmas with my family (though, not religiously...it's more of a singing, decorating, eating extravaganza for us) and Hannukah with my hopefully soon-to-be-finace's family.

And, festivus. For the rest of us.

I know--I know!! I even know a family who celebrates both. I said that I forgot to allow multiple choice, so you can vote for more than one. I meant to, but clicked 'post poll' before I checked that box. Sorry! But I do recognize that there are some families like yours who celebrate both. But I didn't think to make another poll! DUH!
I will post another one in another thread, and I will remember to make it allow you to vote for more than one this time!
