hey Gentlecats and Womcats , kittens and all the users, you probably figured out im a new member on this site, as this is my first post, well hopefully im welcomed in just like any other user, and hope i end up being a member of the Catsite familia... so greetings all,

ill pass the the keyboard to my dad now, thank you all onces again

okay guys, ive a question, this might sound silly to lots of cat breeders and all, but ive had Snowbelle for sometime. infact i wont tell you belle's age as i want most of you to guess it, but what i fail to achieve is her breed, could she be a Turkish Angora with a little mix of Persian?

i bought her from a breeder, he mentioned she had persian in her, but what do they know here, and ive fallen inlove with Belle, i dont know who wouldn't, so that's why im curious to know more about cats for future reference and her especially, so i'll repeat

1- Can you guess Belle's age?
2- What breed is she, or could she be a mix?
3- Why does she keep on suckin on her nipples? she loves it the most and keeps on doing it, even when i try to stop her, or is it okay to leave her do it?

P.S: ill scan the pictures in a bit, cause im already adding them to my address
Me N Belle Advise you to wait thank youuz

All I know is she is CUTE!
for your kitty.

My cat sucked on his belly when he was a baby because he was weaned too early, and it made him comfortable. He would knead and purr when he did it also. He suckled my fingers sometimes too. He stopped when he got older. It was the cutest thing in the world! I wish he still did it, but I'm glad he doesn't have a 'need' to do it also.

I'll guess 7 months.
I'm not good with ages.

Purr thanks for your feedback but i dont think she sucks on her belly, like ive really noticed her suck on her tits, and the funny thing is, it sounds as if she is breastfeeding herself, and i know this cause of the wet spot she leaves when i try to see what shes doin, so i tried to pet her there around her nipple, and whenever i do she flexes and goes at it again, i was tryin to make sure that it was her nipple that she was suckin, and im now 100% positive thats what shes sucking

whys nobody knowing her breed, is she some kinda rare cat or something?

I'm no expert but she looks like a gorgeous mixed breed or DSH to me.
Why didn't the breeder know what kind of breed she was?

My cats suckle on things and me, especially furry or fleecy things. Its fairly normal from what I have heard. Its a comfort thing and has to do with being weaned to young in some cases. In others, its simply a part of the cat's personality.

Ahh i see, i checked them out actually, they seem to have pure white DHS, which almost loooked like her, the only difference is the eye colour which ive rarely seen in white cats, thats if ever, but i guess that dont make no difference eh?

I've no idea on breed. She is rather beautiful... I wouldn't be surprised if she was mixed with one of the breeds you mentioned. On age, I would guess between 5 and 7 months. Its hard to guess once they get into that not a kitten, not quite a cat stage.

Unlike dogs, whose ancestry is usually obvious to some extent even if they're 'mixed', cats are really hard to pin down breed-wise unless they're pedigreed (meaning someone knows for sure who their parents are) and being sexy cats, they're out side so much (unless they're not) that the mixes and matches get lost in the shuffle. They look a lot more like each other (comparatively) than dogs do to each other. You can guess at things, but that's about all.. i've had various cats, some of whom were tabbies, large, and had longish fur with ear tufts and big feet. To me they were 'Maine Coons', but in fact, at least in one case, they had very definite 'other' blood in there as the mother was known to the people I got her from. A cat my brother gave me from his barn long ago was definitely half angora (somewhat longer white fur than a DSH, but not as long or fluffy as a pure angora's would have been, but her personality and facial features very much favored angoras, so whatever else she was, to me she was at least half, if not more, angora. But who cares! We love them no matter what, right?

Larke i agree 100%, we love them no matter what, i took her to the vet today, my heart ached the second i saw her scream when the needle penetrated her for her vaccination, hell i love her more than humans, but for me, because i love her/adore her/cherish her and she obviously feels the same way in return, im feeling the least i can do for her is find out what her breed is about too, even tho she wouldnt understand, im sure she can still hear me tell her when i talk to her, but the vet doc. told me shes a white Angora not a DSH, he said DHS are very similar but her features wether facial or physical, aren't in no way a domestic short hair
