Hi this happened a few years ago but I feel important to discuss...
a couple af years ago I had 2 cats ....always kept good vets appts and always kept them indoors...
I took in a cat from a cousin who was going away ....
Velcro was his name ....such a beatiful loving cat!! I had made vets appt to have him checked ..as the time went on he started to get sick ....turns out he has Felv+....i was devastated ....the disease can turn worse very fast!! Id say in 2 weeks he was very sick ...the most kind thing was to have him put down...I have never felt as sad watching a pet U love pass away ..i was there when we put him down ..I cried my eyes out ...bawled for days, i felt like such a moron crying over my cat ...it took a long time to be able to discuss this....but taking in a cat who is not tested for disease is devastating as my other healty cat contracted this disease and rapidy declined in health too ...this was terrible for me as I lost this second cat to this disease tooo...
It was like a second time for me and I didnt know if i could ever love a cat again for I was scared that any other pet would always be sick.....If you take ina stray or even watch someones pet for them It is SO IMPORTANT TO KNOW ABOUT THIS DISEASE ....ASK QUESTIONS has this cat been a outside cat is it vacinated against certain diseases?? It is so easily transmitted from cat to cat ....
Going through a loss of a pet is a terrible thing ..can just tear you apart .. some people think they are just pets ...no big deal ...NO!!! they are companions ...some peoples best freinds..comforters.....
Each one is different.....
I still have one cat who luckilli did not catch this disease and has been tested neg for 2 years...
but the ones I have lost are never forgotten
and hold a place in my heart ....

I am terribly sorry for the loss of your kitties. It seems when they decline in health so fast and we lose them, It takes us so much longer to come to terms with their parting. I am glad you are able to talk about them now. They are happy and playing together now over the rainbow bridge free of any pain. RIP sweety pies

That is so sad. Thank you for taking the time to try to save other's cats from the same disease.
You're not a moron for being sad. Our cats are our family members. I am so sorry for your losses.

Condolences on the loss of Velcro. What a sad way to lose him and your other cat. May they rest in peace.
