I have two cats, a 4/5 year old one named Tara and a 6-8 month old kitten named Drusilla. I've had Tara for 3 years, Drusilla since July. It took me until last week to finally get them in the same room without full on fights. Things were going well for the first two days. Tara is content to ignore Drusilla now.
Except Drusilla seems content on attacking and antagonizing Tara. She pounces on her from out of nowhere, growls, hisses, smacks with her paw and will chase and pounce if Tara hisses and trys to walk away. Tara in turn, defends herself, and sent Drusilla to the vet with some scratches last time. So I seperated them again.
Is this just normal kitten play/aggression? Drusilla was only 6/7 weeks old when I got her in a shelter, and I don't know how long she was there, so she may have been taken from her mom too early. She'll be getting spayed in February, will this cut down on the behavior? I've finally gotten Tara to accept her, which was a long and hard process, so its a bit frustrating to have Drusilla be the problem now.
Thanks.
