You're probably right. But then I'm not in favour of plastic surgery for purely cosmetic reasons. By all means, have it to correct something disfiguring -- a birth defect, the result of an injury, that sort of thing. I don't suggest that a person should go through life with a face or other feature that is going to attract unwanted attention, if there is a way to correct it.

disfigured that I have difficulty with. "Makeovers" just don't cut it, as far as I'm concerned. But then, I won't even colour my hair, so you see that I draw the line fairly close for myself. And, of course, what a person puts his or her body through for the sake of looks is
