I know we are all saddened by the news of having to lose our dear Lola for in fact she is "ours" as are all the furrbabies on this site. They may own us individually but we are all their caretakers for without each other what a mess we would all be. I was looking around a site and found this poem. It made me think of Lola and I wanted to post it and start a new thread so we can all let Lola know how much we love her and her family and that we are going to miss her dearly. So little Lola this is for you.If this is in the wrong place please move it for me I was not sure where to put it.

Speak not of deathfor there is no such thing-there is merely a parting of the ways.I will walk on a little whileand waitfor you to count the sum of all your days. And when you come you'll find me waitingwith shining eyesand silken well groomed fur. You'll take me in your armsjust as you used to doand angel choirs will bedrowned out by purrs. We love you sweet Lola.

That brought tears to my eyes. I sometimes have difficulty believing how deep inside us these furry babies can get. That is a beautiful poem.

I see threads about what kind of cats we prefer, etc., and yes we like the look of some better than others, but God's animals are all so magnificent and worthy of so much love. IMO they have much more to recommend them than some supposedly humans.

Lola will be missed very much by all of us, but she is going to a place free of pain and hurt and that counts for something.

Thank you so much for that beautiful poem and all of your support. Right now, our sweet Lola is enjoying her final days by laying on Mommy's heating pad, staring out of her favorite window and of course, enjoying plenty of time in Mommy and Daddy's arms and cuddled in our laps. It is just so hard that a few weeks ago, she was a healthy, happy kitten who was running and playing. She will be truly, truly missed by me as she was a better friend than many human friends I have had.

In her honor, we have donated some money, some supplies and food and dedicated a cat tree at the shelter that gave her a second shot at life. We will also be picking up a foster kitty over the weekend who would otherwise be euthanized. Instead of being wracked with the pain of two deaths, I have decided to open my home to this new kitty right away- what better tribute to Lola than to soldier on and help as many kitties as I possibly can? I think that's what she would want.

She had a short but happy life and I know that she appreciates everything we were able to give her in her brief 8 months on the planet. I will love her and miss her always and though I hope to live a long, full life, there will always be my reunion with Lola to look forward to. She will be greeted at the Rainbow Bridge by my past furbabies: yorkies Guiseppe and Kleenex (yes, it's true. I named him whan I was 18 months old) and kitties Lance, Gwen and the Casey Cat, along with TCS furbabies like Smudge, Molly, Belle Starr and many others.

i agree - & the new little one will help you in your grief by not allowing you to dwell overly on your loss - he/she will be keeping you busy!

I'm very sorry. Lola is now at peace and now enjoying life at the rainbow bridge with my Lucki, she's been there a long time now and it's all happiness there with no pain for anyone, just lots of joy. The important thing is that Lola did live a very happy life, even though it was cut short. Please take care of yourself.

Oh Sweet Lola. Pretty soon you'll be feeling wonderful again. I'm sure Leo will take great care of your Meowmie and daddy. Promise us you'll give all our love to our other furbabies over the RB and we'll do what we can for your meowmie. We love you very much Sweet Lola.

That is so sweet. I am very sorry that our Lola is fading away, rather than recovering. How I wish it was different, Allie! But it is so true that she is just passing to another phase, and we will all be together in the end.

Sweet baby girl Lola, the rest of your time on this earth is spent surrounded by the most pure love. That love never leaves, it just changes forms. For you, you get your angel wings when you pass over the Rainbow Bridge, so you can always fly close to Allie who loves you so very much.

to you Allie. This is such a hard time, but as Mary Anne says - it's when their pain ends that ours begins. Please know we are all here for you. I think it is wonderful of you to bring a foster kitty into your home as a tribute to Lola. That in itself says so much about how big your heart is.

What a lovely poem, and tribute to Lola. Sweetie, you've been well loved. When you're ready, tell Mum, and then keep a spot warm for her at the Bridge. Meanwhile, your spirit will help her help other furbabies -- just as you would want.

Well, Lola will be going over the bridge tomorrow morning. Despite the fact that she is still doing a couple of her normal activities (such as HAVING to be with her mommy during flute practice sessions and crawling into my lap during the Daily Show, she is just not herself at all. She spends most of the day hunched up on a heating pad when normally, she would be delighted to greet me at the door and play excitedly with her toys. The breathing and anorexia are getting so bad that Ian and I decided to take her in tomorrow morning because we can tell that she is beginning to visbily suffer quite a bit (and you know how cats are with their symptoms) and she's just starting to lose interest in everything. That's no way to be living.

I'll let everyone know when it is done. Thanks you, from the bottom of my heart, for your support. You have no idea how much it means to me.

I'm so sorry for you. Even when we know it's a mercy, it is so hard to say goodbye. May she go gently on to the place where there is no more suffering but only joy.
