Hi Everyone,
Just changed from Science Diet to Natural Balance to accomodate my 7yr old and 12 week old with one food. I feed canned and dry. Both love it but stools are softer. I did a gradual switch. It has been about a week now. Will stools get firmer as they better adjust or do you think there may be a problem?

Natural balence is a good food but soft stools is the most common issue... are you on the bright pink bag>??? Some times the stools firm up but for some it is too rich... Did you switch over 10-14 days??

Yes, it is the pink bag and the pink can. Switch was 3-5 days as suggested on bag and can. Maybe it was too quick.

My two are getting SD right now. I have a 3 y/o & a 11 w/o & I want to feed them oone kind of food. How much do you like the Natural Balance otherwise? How do your "kids" like it?

They both love it. I like it because it is easier. My male who is 7 really liked the kitten food, and vet said it was not a problem other than possible weight gain. My little one eats everything and anything!!!! She is not fussy. The Natural Balance was the only "all stages" food I could find in my area and other that the softer stools right now, I really like it. I have slowed the switch again and hope that will resolve the problem.

When I've switched dry foods, I've done a 25/75 ratio for 5 days, 50/50 for 5 days, and 75/25 for 5 days and never had a problem.

I feed my cats Natural Balance canned, rotating various flavors. They also get a mix of Felidae and Innova dry.
