What do you all think?? I've also redone my kitchen. I'll post some pictures here when I get home because I don't have them on photobucket yet.

I am going to be honest, i would have just left it the way it was before...

the colour is too dark, if i had that in any of my rooms id turn agressive and dull
But thats just me!

I love it!

Did you swing the couch around so it cuts across the room? I really like that effect, making a little separate seating area against the back wall, and making the rest of the room more intimate for conversation.

I love the colour as well, I am into really saturated colours. It's pretty effective as a feature wall.

We actually had got a new sofa and its a 3 sectional so we had to change the room a little. Now its two rooms in one.

Lovely, just lovely! I really like that color. Great choice. And you even used that accent color throughout in accessories, so it flows. It works. I love the couch, too! Great job. It must feel soooooo good to have it done now, huh?

It feels great. It took me a long time to finally make the plunge and paint the accent wall so dark. I really like it though. Its very warm.

Hey I'm glad to hear other peoples opinions. I can understand frans reasoning too.

I like the warm colors... however, if the ENTIRE room was that dark I'd probably go a little nutters.

Yes, I would imagine it would feel warm. Personally, I do like colors like that. Deep, warm colors. But it just wouldn't fit very well in our house in particular, but in a room like yours, it does look very nice! And, whoa...you did the kitchen , too?! Wow...I'm not sure if you did it both at once or one after the other, but if I tried doing 2 rooms almost at the same time I think I'd go a little CUCKOO!! Kudos to you, and anybody who helped I guess, but still, great job!

Also, I do like the kitchen. Or what little you let us see of it...heheh. Can we have another picture, please? I can see it's in, umm, the modern-ish warm cozy country style, right?...

I like the way the living room looked before. The other rooms look good though.

From this view it looks beautiful though!

Ooh I the curtains! And the table right by the window, with the light filtering through the curtains beautifully. The mirror was a good idea, too, otherwise that wall would've been blank. It does add dimension.

Very nice! I especially love the kitchen.
I really like the kitchen!!! I like the color in the living room but I wouldn't choose it for myself. I do like how it looks in your house though!
The kitchen looks cozy. Nice job on both rooms!
I love those rooms! My bedroom is the same colour as your living room and it is the most tranquil room to fall alseep in. And of course I love blue so I want your kitchen
post #25 of 28
I think they look fab and i love the colour in the living room and i love the kitchen, looks fab.

I love the accent wall in your liivingroom - it works really well because it's a big space. Dark, strong colours ONLY work well in these big spaces - light and airy is fine, but in a big space you do need something to draw the walls in and make it look a little warmer. Way to go you!
I like the lighter colours as well Beth, but you've done a good job
post #28 of 28
The first picture you posted of the after in the living room....I didnt like it.lol I liked the before picture. BUT Then you posted the second pictures of the living room and I really like it. lol So maybe its just how you get the picture. Like if the first before picture and the first after picture would have been taken from the same angle??
The kitchen I absolutely LOVE. Very country!!
Good Job on all the hard work. Makes it like a new home eh? Bet your glad your finished.
