kitten got beat up over catnip

last night i gave my kitten and my older cat some catnipit was the kittens first time i know she dosent need it but i wanted to see her with it i put it on her little toy mouse she went crazy my older cat beat her up when she went near the catnip should not give the kitten anymore catnip so shedosent get beat up ?

Just keep them separated for an hour after they have any, til the effect wears off. Don't put it on the toys.

why cant i put it on toys ? u can buy toys at the store that have catnip in it.

Because catnip can make some cats aggressive. Others just get playful. Put your catnip up until your kitten is old enough to hold her own with the older cats.

she didnt fight back thats why she got beat up but what age should i give to her?

I would wait until she is full grown and able to be assertive with the other cats in other situations. It is not an exact age, but an obsevation that you must make about the behavior of the cats.
