I use and like Dreft but have also used and liked Baby All which is cheaper and works just as well. I use the liquid. I spray with Odoban, which I find in the grocery store in the same area as Febreeze - I don't like Febreeze but looking there found the Odoban one day and liked it.

Me again -- I just noticed that you're brand-new to the board, Yarra... no wonder you're taken aback. People here are pretty passionate, especially when they feel a vet visit is needed. I don't think anyone really means to judge you... we're just all a bunch of saps when it comes to kittycats, and we get very emotional about their wellbeing. Please don't be insulted... and don't give up on the board. We're all on your side, honest!

Does your BF scold her?? I had a cat who wanted my BFs attention and he peed where he knew my BF would find before me, just to get the attention of the scolding. Once my BF started giving him some loving attention, he didn't do it agian until my BF left the house.

She has never been scolded for pooping. I am the one that deals with the poops. If I know she did it within the last few minutes, I take the poo to the litter box and show it to her. I have praised her twice when I caught her using the litter box.

My BF last night suggested that we should rub her nose in it and teach her that this behavior is not acceptable.

BEFORE EVERYONE GETS FIRED UP....

...I quickly put a damper on that thought of his and told him that cats DO NOT respond to negative re-enforcement the way other animals can. Positive re-enforcement is what she needs.

So to answer your question, no, he does not scold her. Had he been given the chance without my intervention, probably.

Okay, i hear lots of meowing by the litter box. must run.

Gosh, I sure hope you get this sorted out. Gaye has given some excellent advice.

Poor wee kittie! Sounds like she is either ill or needs lots of "mothering".

YAY

My BF just called to say that a woman called him claiming that the kitten was hers.

(we posted signs in the area she was found)

I sure hope it is the actual owner and not some idot trying to get a free kitten. I will have to feel it out when we take her over.

But non-the-less, he told her that she was sick and needed medical attention and the "owner" said that she would take her to the vet tomorrow.

I am going to give them some of our food so that she can be weened off of it. I would hate for her little system to go through the whole getting-used-to-a-new-food-thing again.

Anywho...the good news is, my BF had called me a just a couple hours before he got this call to tell me to make an apt for the kitty to go to our vet. So he came to his sences. He really is a good guy. But he is just that, a guy. Sometimes they don't think too clearly you know? It takes a woman to help them straighten out their thoughts.

Heres to BoBo Cheeks. (my friend who was in town visting kept calling her that. It was the closest she got to a name with us.)

Well...

It will just be Me, my BF and Polly in our house now. (polly is in my sig) The kitty with no name went home tonight. Her owners saw our FOUND signs and called us.

I really hope it was the rightful owners though. The people that called were people that live next to the shop my BF works for. I just didn't get that the cat really belonged to them. I REALLY hope I am wrong, and I REALLY hope they take good care of her.

I have resolved that if I or my BF see her out again, we will take her to the rescue south of here. She is WAY to little to be out and running around.

I am having a very hard time right now accepting her departure. She is SUPER sweet and loving. I got very attached to her, and to give her up to a situation that I don't feel is a good one is killing me.

I have been crying most of the night since I dropped her off.

Bless your heart... and your boyfriend's, too. I know your concern for this kitten is sincere. I hope the people who claimed him will keep him safe indoors frm now on.

You are so right about men. Even the very best men can be oblivious to such things as sick kitties... or in my case, a sick daughter. My own father talked me out of "wasting my money" by going to the emergency room when I had a severe steam burn one time, so I kept my hand in ice for two days to numb the unbelievable pain. When I was finally able to bring my hand out long enough to look at it, my fingers were WEBBED. The skin had actually melted together in between!

So... yeah. Men just think differently. They have to be whacked upside the head now and then. :-)

Oh yeah, even the best of them. My husband thinks that no matter what ails you, exercise will fix it - carpal tunnel, upset stomach, heartburn, back ache, headache - no matter what exercise will fix it. He doesn't exercise himself so I don't know where all this knowledge comes from.

It's a good thing he's a nice and kind man or I couldn't stand it.

My BF remedy for everything was keeping me to bed, from flu to a sprained ankle. He wouldn't even let me go to the bathroom on my own

WELL!

Now I am ticked. My BF called me from work to say that the 12 week old kitten SHOWED UP AGAIN IN HIS BAY!!!! (where he works on cars, where he saw her the first time a week ago)

These people were told BY ME, that the cat is sick, she MUST see a vet and MUST stay inside.

If Jordan can get her, he is going to bring her home tonight and we will take her to the shelter. These people don't deserve to have this cat, or ANY cat. I wish we could keep her.
