Cat quotations.

Do you have any favourite feline quotations?
Mine are:

1. Time spent with cats is never wasted.
2. Cats are intended to teach us that not everything in nature has a function.
3. If man could be crossed with the cat, it would improve man but deteriorate the cat.
4. If cats could talk, they wouldn't.
5. Dogs come when they're called; cats take a message and get back to you later.
6. Dogs believe they are human. Cats believe they are God.
7. In ancient egypt, cats were worshipped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this.
8. Cat people are different, to the extent that they generally are not conformists. How could they be, with a cat running their lives?
9. Cats seem to go by the principle that it never does any harm to ask for what you want.
10.Only cat lovers know the luxury of fur-coated, musical hot-water bottles that don't go cold.

I like them, very good.
I also like this one:
Do not meddle in the affairs of cats for they are subtle and will piss on your computer.

"Happiness is being owned by a cat"

I've found some more that i like:

1. "A Cat sleeps fat, yet walks thin."
2. "I love cats because I love my home and little by little they become its visible soul."
3. "There are people who reshape the world by force or argument but the cat just lies there, dozing, and the world quietly reshapes itself to suit his comfort and convenience."
4. "Even overweight cats instinctively know the cardinal rule: when fat, arrange yourself in slim poses."
5. "There is no snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast."

One of my favorites is a cartoon that the late humorist, James Thurber, wrote- it's a picture of a fire place mantle in a living room, with cats everywhere, with a question and answer (as in "Dear Abby") at the bottom:

Q: We have cats the way most people have mice. Signed, Mrs. C. L. Footloose

A: I see you have. I can't tell from your communication, however, whether you wish advice or are just boasting.

My second is from a poem by Yeats, "The Cat and the Moon":
"Minnaloushse creeps through the grass
Alone, important and wise
And lifts to the changing moon
His changing eyes."

Last, but not least, from "The Rum Tum Tugger", by T.S. Eliot:
"The Rum Tum Tugger is a terrible bore:
When you let him in, he wants to be out;
He's always on the wrong side of every door,
And as soon as he's at home, then he'd like to get about."

The refrain is, "Yes the Rum Tum Tugger is a Curious Cat--
And there isn't any use for you to doubt it:
For he will do
As he do do
Abd there's no doing anything about it!"

This perfectly describes my butterscotch moggie Smitty, a.k.a. "The Rum Tum Tugger."

I made a magnetic refrigerator sign for my mom based on a quote I heard once:

This household is maintained solely

I have 24 magnetic fridge magnets and 4 of them are cat ones which say:

1. The more i know about men, the more i love my cat.
2. Nine lives and i had to chose this one!
3. Cats leave paw prints on your heart
4. If you want the best seat in the house you'll have to move the cat. .
