HELP! THEY'RE EATING MY ORNAMENTS.
i have these little glittery snowflake ornaments which are just wire and glitter, but they're chewing all the glitter off the wire which can't be good for their digestive systems.
they're also unwrapping my presents and climbing my tree. i know, i'm trying to see it from their point of view... ribbon is irresistable and the Christmas tree must be like tree climbing in the comfort of your own home... but they're driving me crazy. Sparky chews on the mini light bulbs and Spike climbs to the top of the tree and refuses to come down.
i'm ready to just chunk the tree in the dumpster and call it quits... so how do you guys get your kitties to behave around your holiday decorations?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Cass!e

PS- it was sort of cute when i was testing my lights, i looked up and Sparky had one in his mouth and his whole face was glowing. i laughed hysterically then put him outside till i was done decorating!

You need to keep the cats away from the Christmas tree. Either put them in another room or change your decorations. The tree should be decorated with all non breakable ornaments, no lights. I know that doesn't sound like much of a tree, but I had to do it that way when my Max was the only cat I had and he was inside all the time. When the cat won't leave it all alone, it could pose some serious threats to him.
In short, isolate the cats from the tree, change the decorations or take it down.
