This is my first post...but

Found 2 white lil worms the size of / and searched it up, read that it could be tape worms!...

How did they get to her tail? do they craw out of her?

Shes only 3 months and a house cat...how can she get fleas that carry tapeworms?!

What should i do?

And are these so called tapeworms dangerous to humans?

Thanks

Great job watching over your little one! It certainly sounds as if your kitty has tape worms. Yes, they crawled out her bottom. You will also be able to see them in her stool. Please take her to her Vet for a fecal exam so she can receive her medication to eliminate the worms.

So now i know that all cats get worms once in a while but whats the cause? Is it fleas? Is it cause of whats shes eating?

So once i get the tab, the med will affect my cat for about 6months, then i get another tab?

Thanks for offering all the help.

Please do not fall for "miracle worming pill" that is over the counter. Not ALL kittens or cats have worms- that is an untruth. To test to see if your cat or kittens have worms you need the vet to perform a fecal test. Then the vet will tell you what types of worms might be present and he will give you the proper medication. Worming pills are given based on weight of the animal and overall health.

Yes! Bring her in along with a poo sample! She could have picked them up anywhere, but she may have had them all along- I understand that it can be transmitted from her mother. If she has a little pot belly that is also a sign. She needs to go to the vet anyway for her first shots if she hasn't already- adding a stool sample test and dewormer won't cost too much more.
My vet gave them a dewormer and gave me another dose for each kitten to give after two weeks as a follow up. That seemed to get rid of them completely, without going into graphic details. I would definitely wash your hands throughly after cleaning her litter box and touching her back area. That being said, you really should wash your hands after handling her at all, although when my kittens had them I didn't always do it, and so far I am fine.

Humans can get tapeworms, but I don't know that you could get them from your cat. However, if she has any other kind of worm, like roundworm, you can get that from her.

Please take her to the vet, get REAL wormer, and REAL flea stuff.

DO NOT buy over the counter, it could kill her or make her sick, if she gets sick from over the counter [$4] dewormer or flea control, it will cost you upwards of $500 to take her to the vet to treat her, should she react and have problems. It's cheaper, and more effective to talk to your vet, get proper wormer and flea control.
