Have you ever experienced this before? I've heard it could happen...and it did this weekend near my aunts house!

DH and I got lost on Thanksgiving trying to find my Aunt's house in the small town in Upstate NY she lives in. We were trying to find it till it started snowing really heavy so we just found a parking lot and called for my Cousin to come get us so we could follow him there. Well we turned the car around in this parking lot and I thought someone flashed thier lights at us in a nearby parking lot, except there was a big boomb along with it! We had about three goodsize flashes and thunder claps. My cousin said he had just walked outside and thought someone took his picture!
I talked to my other cousin who was about 15 miles west of us and they didn't get the thunderstorm. It was awesome! I'll never forget it!

What a wonderful experience! I've experienced it in blizzards before, with the best, memory-for-a-lifetime storm flashing a deep cobalt blue, during white-out conditions in the wee hours of the morning. It was one of the best perks for working at night, with a 50-mi. commute of mountain driving. I'm glad that you got to experience it, too!

Yes, we've seen that a few times in SW Ontario. I personally have never seen the lightning...(it was snowing too hard) but I did hear the thunder..you know when that is going on that you are getting a really nasty storm!

We get a lot of weird weather here in Oklahoma. Not much snow, but occasionally we have a thunder-blizzard. Mostly in the winter we just get frizzle. My all time favorite was the green lightning balls.

We had the samething happen here on Thanksgiving day. On the ride over too my sisters house it started sleeting really bad. Then this big lighting bolt and loud claps of thunder. Three times in a row then that was it.

We've had the thunder and lightening a few times during a snowstorm. It's a really strange thing to see (and hear).

Where my family lives they always get lake effect snow too, but I've never experienced it before there and neither had my cousins.
